#Spexappeal with Enigma

{Spectacles - Enigma by Titan Eye Plus, T-Shirt/Necklace/Rings - Forever 21, Leggings - Koovs, Long cardigan - Zara, Bag/Watch - Michael Kors, Shoes - Asos}

I have always been in favor of wearing glasses and not lenses. I feel more at ease with my glasses and never felt that it gave me a nerdy look which is a very common misconception. So, when approached by Titan Eye Plus about their new Enigma collection which encourages women to wear glasses and feel confident in them, the offer was kinda match made in heaven. I have always promoted the idea of wearing spectacles and I own numerous styles for different moods and occasions. The idea is to use your glasses as an accessory and flaunt them and not hide behind them.

Enigma has a wide variety of glasses to choose from and there's something for everybody, the girly girl, the funky girl, the corporate girl or an eclectic girl. The minute I saw the collection, these frames were the first one I picked and no matter what else I tried, these just felt like the perfect shape for my face cut. I like black and bold frames, there's no argue about that so these rectangular frames were my final choice and I absolutely love them!

No matter what you are wearing or where you are going, you can always rock glasses and I am not just saying for the sake of it. I speak from experience as I have been wearing glasses almost every single day for over ten years now! And I absolutely love wearing them!!

Learning Art of Oiling with Nargis Fakhri

Not long ago, we visited the city of lights, Mumbai, to learn and revive the lost art of oiling with Nargis Fakhri. Set in a beautiful cafe, the event was one of the most fun soirees we have attended in recent times and I just had to share a few moments we captured of the night!

#ArtOfDressing with Van Heusen [PopXo Blog Network]

{Dress/ Belt/ Jacket - Van Heusen, Tights - Zara, Shoes - Asos.com, Bag - Moschino, Watch - Michael Kors, Sunglasses - Prada}

During the colder months, while my sartorial choices are limited to experimenting with jeggings, jackets and pullovers, from time to time I do like to dress up the mundane life and opt for something classier, chic and sharp. My love for tailored bodycon dresses hugging the curves at the right places has only grown and the versatility of these timeless pieces makes me come back to them time and again.

The classic shift dresses in the new Van Heusen for Deepika Padukone collection defines minimalism and class all the way. The cuts and the silhouettes takes unique shape and concorde to the shape of the wearer in the utmost flattering manner and that's the unique selling point of the whole collection. The experimental elements like a cascade running through the length of the dress or the texture taking the dress to a different level of elegance is just a cherry on the cake! I picked out my favorites from the whole collection and they turned out to be this stunning emerald dress and cream leather jacket which makes for a bomb combination when worn together.

Being a fan of Miss Padukone's work and style, when contacted by PopXo Blog Network for this collaboration, we were more than excited to go ahead and shoot something from this collection. And trust us, these were not our only favorites! Impeccable shirts and tailored blazers also adorns this collection and are perfect finds for the upcoming holiday season! Do check them out if you are out and about and you spot a Van Heusen store, they are definitely worth your time!

Stay Chic!

Florals and Plaid for Fall

{Skirt/Shirt/Necklaces/Rings/Shoes - Forever 21, Crop Top - Stalk Buy Love, Bag - Zara}

As soon as the Fall season kicks in, spotting plaid shirt becomes a common occurring. While it is a really versatile piece to have in your closet, wearing it with regular denims, hoodie and sneakers doesn't always looks as cute as Bella Swan casuals. I like to layer my plaid shirts depending on the weather.

For an easy look, you could just layer it over a cropped top and skirt like I have done here during the beginning months of Fall. Light layering is the key when it comes to jewellery as well. Layer a couple of long pieces with short ones to keep the neck area from looking too stuffy.

 I have been wearing this shirt almost every week since I bought it because it is so easy to wear! Whenever I have one of those days when I wake up late and have little or no time to get ready and leave, I reach out for this classic piece. You can wear it with denims, jeggings, skirt, layered over a t-shirt or under a jacket, just so many ways to style it! And it looks perfect during the Fall season! Hands down one of my favorite pieces during the colder months. Photography credits: www.aanchalkalra.com

Blackberrys brings world music to India

 Upscale menswear and accessories brand, Blackberrys, is bringing music lovers in India an unprecedented opportunity. This year its annual flagship event Sharp Nights is organising a five-city World Music tour.

Aptly titled ‘Blackberrys Sharp Nights – Masters Of World Music’ the tour will showcase two of the world's leading world music performers, promote local musical talent and institute a scholarship fund to help conserve traditional Indian music. Now, with the music festivals being such a hit lately in India, we think there couldn’t have been a better time for a brand to do this.

The first musician to perform is Malian folk musician Fatoumata Diawara, who will perform in Delhi on November 19th at Blue Frog, Mehrauli and in Hyderabad on Nov 22nd at DurgamCheerayu Park, Jubilee Hills.

The other world renowned artiste on the tour is Malian folk Fusion and Blues guitarist and singer Vieux FarkaToure, who will perform in Pune on December 3rd, Bengaluru on December 6th and Mumbai on December 10th.

With this first-of-its-kind world music tour, Blackberrys is also providing an opportunity to home grown talents – Barmer Boys in Delhi(1st image), Catharsis in Hyderabad, Highway 61 in Pune, Shoonya in Bengaluru and Rajeev Raja Combine in Mumbai to perform on the very same stage in their respective cities.

Furthermore each concert will begin with a fashion auction which will showcase the Blackberrys AW '14 look – the proceeds of which will be used to nurture Indian traditional music schools, by providing scholarships for deserving students and funds for material support.

In our opinion, this is a great step by Blackberry in terms of bringing India one step ahead in music scene while also giving opportunity to Indian talents and at the same time fulfilling a good cause by giving away the proceeds to Indian traditional music schools. In today’s culture of pop and hip music where we all either listen to YoYo Honey Singh or Eminem, it’s nice to be reminded of some folk music. Well done, Blackberry!

Summer Skin Care Regime, Review and Tips

Hey guys! I have always been asked what products I use on my skin and today is the day I address all those question. Watch the video to know my Summer Skin care regime along with few tips to keep your skin soft and happy :)

French Connection Menswear Collection Review

It's that time of the year again when you have to loosen your pockets and go shopping for the new season's key pieces. Fall has almost hit us and soon there's going to be more than just a little nip in the air. During this time, the stores get all flooded with soft knits, cozy jackets and what not and while I love talking about womenswear, I thought it would be fun to include the gentlemen of our lives as well! I can't say for everyone but the men of my house love to shop during Fall. While in Summer, they get to wear the basic shirt or t-shirt, Fall brings a whole platter of variety for them to experiment with. There are cardigans, sweatshirts, hoodies, jackets, leather jackets, pullovers, caps, scarves and the list goes on!

When we were given a chance to review the new menswear collection at the French Connection store, we readily accepted. We are already loyal customers of the brand and when one of your favorite brands asks you to come over, have a look at the collection and share your thoughts on the same, how can you not accept!

It was so easy to get distracted by the womenswear collection they had but I was determined about not ignoring the menswear section this time around and giving them the attention that they deserve. Have a look at the collection, the pictures speak louder than words:

Aman could hardly contain his happy after-shopping-smile! The new collection has knits, cardigans, chino pants, etc in myriad of colors. The knit material used for the cardigans and pullover are really soft, cozy and durable. The textures and color blocking are the highlights of the collection and the cozy shirts in tartan check print were my favorite. If you happen to be around French Connection store, drop by to have a look at the collection, I am sure you will not be disappointed if you are looking for smart casuals.

How to: Eyebrow Tutorial

Hey guys! Here's a new video tutorial on how I do my eyebrows. I got a few requests from you guys so I figured why not begin my tutorials with one of the most important yet most ignored feature of the face. Doing your eyebrows can have a huge impact on the final outcome so never ignore it. And it is actually really simple to groom them, watch the video below to know how:

Bidding goodbye to my long tresses

{Crop Top/Necklace/Shoes/Hand Harness/Rings - Forever 21, Pants - Monsoon, Wrap Bracelet - Zara}

When I did this photoshoot, I never imagined that this might just be one of my last outfits with long hair! Even though I wanted to cut my hair short for a long time, I never had the courage to chop off my long tresses that took so much effort to become what they were. But I guess, I needed the push which I got this Diwali. Everybody has been asking me why I chopped off my hair, why did I get rid of my long tresses and here's the answer:
Because it caught fire.

Yes, that's the story. On Diwali night, after the customary prayers and all, we were clicking family pictures. I had my camera on the tripod and was setting timer so that I could also be in the picture and since not everyone were fitting in the frame, I kept moving back without realizing that there was a diya (Indian candle, sort of) right behind me. After a few seconds, I felt something hot on my back and at the same moment my brother who was standing near me noticed the fire. Thankfully, the damage was contained on time and it was limited to my hair. I went to the salon and got a good 10 inches chopped off even though the damage was up till 6-7 inches. I felt it was a perfect opportunity to try out the long bob that I wanted for last 5-6 months but just couldn't. So yeah, now I have like super short hair and sometimes I miss my long hair so much, I could cry but I do love the short look too. It's lighter and easier to style and looks cute. Here's how it looks now:

I am kinda happy that I finally got the haircut I had been craving for. And the timing couldn't be better with the Fall season approaching. I am super excited to style my hair this season! I have had my fair share of hair updos for now and now I am ready to experiment with short hair :D

How to do Indo-western flawlessly!

When you are running short of time during festive or wedding season, you don't necessarily need to pick up any outfit just for the sake of it. You can create an indo-western outfit which would look just as chic as any of those designer humdrums your cousins would be wearing. When all of a sudden, it was decided that we need to wear traditional outfits for our last day of the office before Diwali and I had all heavy anarkalis and sarees which I could not carry off during a hectic bridal shoot which was scheduled for the last day, this happened:

{Dress - Koovs, Leggings - Sakshi Grover, Necklace - Jewellery shop from my hometown, Shoes - Christian Louboutin}

I paired a midi length black dress with a peach colored leggings from an anarkali and topped it off with a heavy kundan necklace. The dress had a beautiful silhouette with high neck and quarter sleeves on the bodice and a draped skirt both attached on the waist leaving a tasteful gap which showed some skin and saved the look from being too stuffy. I maintained the chic look of the whole ensemble by going with straight hair and I think it all turned out quite nice, what do you think?

If you decide to try this out, keep a few pointers in mind:
- Choose a dress with an appropriate length which can pass for a kurta
- No prints unless it's paisley or some other Indian motif
- Choose subtle colors like nudes, peaches, black, creams, etc which are mostly used in Indianwear
- If you want to go for colors, go for jewel tones like emerald, rich purple, etc.
- Accessorize with Indian jewellery and don't be afraid to pile them on, just don't go too much overboard.

If you try this technique, do share a picture on Twitter or Instagram tagging me!

Earn while you shop this festive season!!

I don't think it's a secret that I am kinda shopaholic. Be it's Sale season or not, it is difficult for me to let go of something that I probably don't need but want really bad. When I was in college, I would save every penny to buy the shoes that I was eyeing. Now, a couple of years later, nothing has changed. I still save and shop. The only change that is evident is my interest in Online shopping. It is so much easier and faster especially during sale season! Instead of standing in long queues for the trial room and then at the cashier, I prefer sifting through hundreds of products online at my disposal. Just a few clicks here and there in the comfort of my own room, I have acquired few of my favorite pieces that lie in my wardrobe today.

This festive season when you have so many reasons to shop, online shopping can prove to be the biggest rescue possible from the overly crowded stores. I love shopping but it is really not convenient to go through every rack at the stores when there is a lot of rush. And during Dhanteras, Diwali and Bhaidooj almost back to back, there is no possibility of delaying your shopping till after the festivities. So what do I do? I go online to few of my favorite online shopping websites and place orders for Diwali/Card Party outfit for myself, something expensive for Dhanteras, something special for my little brother for Bhaidooj and few gifts for my friends and family. Now, I am guessing you guys are getting anxious about how to earn while you do some major deep digging in your pockets. Sit tight, the good stuff is about to begin!

How about if I tell you that you can get a certain percentage of money that you spend on these online purchases back in your bank account? Yes, you heard me. Bonusbay.in is a website which offers cashback on your online purchases on outlets like Flipkart, Myntra, Jabong, Koovs, Amazon, Yatra, Ebay, etc. Whether you are buying your outfit, a new phone or your New Year's Vacation tickets, Bonusbay.in has got it all covered!

How it works:

-In order to get bonuses of your purchases, you must be logged in to your Bonusbay account, and click on any of the online stores through the Bonusbay website.
-You will make a purchase in the online stores as you normally would.
-When you go to the online store through their service it recognizes that you are a user of Bonusbay and pays them sales commission for your purchases.
-Bonusbay shares this commission with you in a form of bonus, so that you will get part of your own money back.
-You can request the transfer of bonuses to your bank account once the balance hits a minimum amount of Rs. 1000.
- Bonusbay transfers bonuses to your bank account within a few working days.
-You can check your total tracked bonus and your balance available for payment from My Profile page on the Tracked Bonus tab.

Different websites offer different bonuses like Myntra offers 6% bonus, Flipkart and Amazon offers 5.5% bonus and so on. Over a period of time, you can really save a lot. Use this saved money to treat yourself with pretty shoes or bag, whatever you want. I know I am going to be using this website's facility this festive season A LOT! I mean, why not get cash back on your purchases when you simply can!

Wills Lifestyle Collection Review

Fashion week has officially come to an end. While the 5 days were filled with crazy energy, late nights, fun and fashion, I did get a chance to meet few lovely people and get a closer look at all the designer clothes. But in midst of all things expensive, the Wills Lifestyle collection really stood out! From Club, Sports, Classic to Designer Wear, they have got everything covered. I have my eye on a couple of Pankaj & Nidhi designs for Wills!

On Day 5, I got a chance to see the collection up close and review it as a guest of PopXo and Wills Lifestyle. And I was really really impressed from this year's Autumn/Winter collection!

This boho-chic jumpsuit is one of my favorite pieces from the collection. The fabric is soft and drapes beautifully and the color scheme just screams Autumn/Winter! This would be just as perfect for a dinner date paired with a long coat as it would be for a sunny day lunching on a terrace cafe!

This mustard yellow suit is perfect if you work in a stylish office environment. It gives a bold statement and in contrast with the soft shirt fabric, it retains the femininity as well.

The men's collection really bowled me over. I have seen my guy friends struggling to shop stylish clothes from high street brands, and really there is hardly any options out there for them! I know for sure, Aman would be happy to check out the Wills Lifestyle collection as they have amazing color blocked shirts, polo t-shirts and well tailored trousers.

I loved the jackets in the collection as well, be it womens or mens. They are so well fitted and tailored fit is actually very rare to find these days and that is what costs you a bomb while shopping from designers. But Wills managed to get it right with the fits and I am so glad! The color combinations and the finishings are really good and I cannot wait for these to hit the shops so that I can grab couple of these awesome pieces! I suggest, you guys also keep a lookout for the new Autumn/Winter collection from Wills Lifestyle because it is going to be a show stealer!

#FashionWeekDiary

So, as I have been attending the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week this season in collaboration with PopXo, I thought it would be great to bring you guys along with me for one day through pictures.

Day 4 was filled with exciting shows like Dev R nil, Urvashi Kaur, Wendell Rodricks, etc. with the highlight being the last show of Wendell in collaboration with Ministry of Textiles. More on that later. But in between attending back to back fashion shows, we usually have an hour gap and that is the time to catch up with fellow blogger friends, fill up your tummy and go through the stalls in the exhibition area. I managed to squeeze in time for all three and I actually ran into an old college friend of mine and we ended up chatting for hours before Wendell's show. Surprise run-ins are always fun :)

Raakesh Agarwal's show was definitely not his best. He has done a lot better in past and the overuse of denim was even though done efficiently, it failed to leave an impact on the audience.

Vineet Bahl's collection was nice and likeable but nothing mind blowing here. The palette was neutral mostly with splashes of color here and there. The embroidery was beautiful though and the use of gathers were done very nicely.

Wendell Rodricks did something quite different this time and I personally loved it. His collection usually consists of all shades in the rainbow but this time around, he sticked to just one color, white. The collection had a very zen feel to it and the music added to the ambience. The cuts and drapes were stunning and it was the best collection of the day without a doubt.
The choice of dusky models was a brilliant move as whites stands out the best on such skin tones.

I also crossed by Malini Ramani's stall while sifting through the exhibition, isn't the display super cute!

Along with many fashion whos who, Bollywood was not left far behind. Neha Dhupia attended dressed in all white and how! Loved the chic red lips with the outfit.

{Skirt/Necklace - Koovs, Crop Top/Shoes - Forever 21, Clutch - Bangkok}

I also got a quick outfit picture taken, the lighting was not the best so excuse the use of flash. I chose to wear an all black outfit to compliment the fuschia studded clutch I was carrying. And I kept the accessories minimal by just going with a statement necklace because the look was effortless. Like literally. I got ready in 15 mins in the morning as I had to go to office first and finish off my work and then head to the fashion week. I just swapped my bag and heels for a smaller and higher version respectively. Hope you enjoyed this post, stay tuned for more exciting updates of WIFW and follow me on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for live updates!

What I wore to WIFW SS15

{Skirt- StalkBuyLove, Top/Shoes - Zara, Necklace/Rings - Forever21, Bag - Love Moschino}

Fashion week is in full swing and so is the street style at the show venue. In my last post, I showed you guys some very stylish outfits worn by some very stylish ladies so now, it's time to show you guys what I wore to WIFW. I am attending the Wills Fashion Week as a PopXo blogger and if you guys don't know about it already, I have collaborated with PopXo and will be guest blogging for them so do check out their website if you want to see more of my articles :)

I wanted to keep my outfit minimalistic and non-fussy this time as I was attending sans the partner in crime, Aman so I had to handle the camera, etc. I already showed you all which bag I was going to carry to WIFW in my previous post What's in my Bag (Fashion Week Edition) and it went perfectly with my outfit. I chose to wear a printed pencil skirt paired with a plain white sleeveless top for a clean look. I have always been afraid of wearing white as it is too high-maintenance but I guess, with age comes maturity(not that I am too old :P) because I seem to be gravitating a lot towards whites and nudes these days. These colours give a clean and crisp look to the whole ensemble which is what I was going for with this outfit.

And by the way, has anybody noticed my new damn cool shades yet? No? Nobody? Well, I will either ways shamelessly shout it out loud: Check out my new super cool shades!!! It was a gift from Aman and I am absolutely obsessed with it. I may just be able to wear it for next couple of weeks before Winter hits but I don't care! I loveeee them!! :D

xoxo,
Stay fabulous!

Fashion at the WIFW SS15!

Fashion Weeks have always been an object of curiosity for the common people who don't get to attend. I know because before I started blogging, I was also curious to attend the Will Lifestyle India Fashion Week and see what really goes inside. And yes, the fashion! Truth to be told, 80% of people wear the outfits that they couldn't to the supermarket or the mall or even to the movies with their non-fashion friends. It's like a fashion parade everywhere you look. It's not just the ramps and designers that the fashion weeks are made of, had there not been such fashionable and stylish people gracing these events, it would be a dull affair and would eventually lose it's charm.

So, day 1 was quite short for me as I was not very well. I was going to skip it but glad I made the decision of at least going for a couple of hours coz it was totally worth it! I spotted few really stylishly dressed people and couldn't resist clicking them.

Looking forward to what the rest of the days have in store for us! It's just the beginning...

This season, I am attending the WIFW as a guest of PopXo.com and Wills Lifestyle. If you don't know already, I am guest blogging for PopXo, check out my Profile HERE!

What's in my bag (WIFW Edition)

Hello friends!

The Wills India Fashion Week frenzy is about to begin in a couple of days. I am gearing myself up inspite of being sick for past few days because I do not want to miss this season as Spring/Summer is my favorite! As I was packing my bag for the 5 days of madness, I figured if some of you are also planning to go, a post on what to carry to go through the whole day at the fashion week venue might be of help. So, here it is!

Apart from day-to-day items, I add on few more things that are very crucial during Fashion Weeks. The first and foremost are a pair of flats because running from one show to another in heels can take a toll on your soles and you can rest them in between by wearing a comfy pair of flats. You should also carry an external mobile charger, some gum, pen drive, roll-on perfume, sanitizer, band-aids, etc. To get a more detailed insight on what's in my bag during fashion weeks, check out the video below:

Being a blogger, I always carry my DSLR to capture all the fashionable moments and the street style during fashion weeks and I will be bringing this cute camera bag by October with me.

Hope this post helps you guys! And if you spot me at the WIFW, come say hi!! We can take a selfie together :))

This season, I am attending the WIFW as a guest of PopXo.com and Wills Lifestyle. If you don't know already, I am guest blogging for PopXo, check out my Profile HERE!

Chanel Haul

Who doesn't love a little bit of luxury every now and then? After months of getting rigorously stretched too thin between work, blogging and travelling, I felt it was only fair to treat myself a little. And as I have confessed in my previous post of Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronzer review, Chanel is my guilty pleasure. I know it is too costly, but sometimes I like to splurge on it. Plus, the quality is great. Especially while buying this brand, I never have to worry about it being worth the money because it always turns out to be. Worth the money.

After going through the stress of moving and starting a whole new job, it kinda started showing on my skin. I felt my skin was a little dry and it had lost it's glow. A major reason could be that I had not been working out for quite some time and also not getting enough sleep or paying attention to my skin. I was using all Clinique skin regime at that time but couldn't really blame it taking the circumstances into consideration. I shall review those products as well, I guess. Anyways, not wandering off the point! The same day I went to the mall and picked up some goodies from Chanel. I had heard good things about their Hydra Beauty Creme so I decided to get that. The SA at the store also recommended the same one for my skin type and concern. I have been using it for a couple of weeks now, and I really do see the difference. I will review the product once I have used it for a couple of months at least so that I can be aware of all the pros as well as cons, if there are any.

While I was at the store, I looked through their beauty range [As I always do *rolling eyes*] and spotted a couple of beautiful lipstick shades. They were too gorgeous to not try them on at least and even though I was planning to get one of these two colors, I just couldn't pick one! They were both so gorgeous and I was in love with the colors, the packaging, everything really! They glided like butter on my lips and left them moisturized and tinted in the most loveliest of pink hues! I ended up getting both of them *guilty grin* and I absolutely love love love them both. If you are at the mall, do go to the store and at least try them on, the shades are "Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Color in 60 Triomphe" and "Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Color in 136 Melodieuse". They are a pleasure to wear! I will swatch them both for you guys if you want.

That's all for now! Good night!

Fuschia and Orange + Closeup DA Instasmile!

{T-shirt/Necklace - Forever 21, Shorts - H&M, Blazer - Choies, Bag - c/o Etre, Sandals - Mango}

It's been a month since I posted an outfit on the blog. My life was upside down and I hardly had time or energy to switch on my laptop and write something/anything. Though the month was stressful and hectic, I am happy as it was all for the best. I got a new job and in a field that I wanted and I got a new place to live which I love! It's like my own little den and most of my time these days goes into decorating this little place of mine. It will take another month or so to finish the decor but I am very excited. I remember the happiness and satisfaction I got when I finished decorating my last place after 3 months of moving in. There's nothing like it! And yes, the new job! I am working now as a fashion stylist for Pernia's Pop Up Shop! The office is great and the people there are super nice and sweet. It's been a little over two weeks since I joined and over 3 weeks since I moved in. I am quite settled down now and much more at ease. I plan to devote more time to blogging now and also, I am planning something new which many of you guys have been requesting for. Guess guess? It should be ready to be introduced by the beginning of next month and I cannot wait to tell you all about it!

On another note, how amazing is the weather these days! It's raining (which I usually hate!) and feels like Summer is gonna bid goodbye soon and Fall is my favourite!! Ah! Can't waittttt!!! And hey, did I tell you guys, I started driving! If you follow me on Instagram, you know I had been taking driving lessons from Aman. And now I have got my Learning Licence and I drive to my office everyday myself, all alone! I feel so proud, may sound a little silly as the whole world drives but trust me guys, I could never drive anything. Literally, not even roller skates or bicycle :|

P.S. - The Closeup Video that I worked on last month is out now! And I am also in the advertisement of Closeup Diamond Attraction in Filmfare and Femina(September Issue)! Super exciting!

You can read all about this collaboration and get a chance to win a feature shoot with Femina magazine HERE! Be the fabulous self you are and don't ever shy away from coming into the limelight...Good luck!

Bed Head - “This is Me” (Selfie to Barcelona Contest!)

"TIGI Bedhead has just gone live with the This is Me campaign. The brand known for its rule breaking attitude and cheekiness along with their fun and creative hair products already have a strong online social presence globally and have begun their efforts in engaging its Indian audience by reaching out to them.

The TIGI Bedhead – ‘This is Me’ campaign stays true to the brand values and focuses on individuality by
encouraging people to acknowledge their true self. Personalities like renowned hair stylist Savio John Pereira; psychedelic painter Sameer Hazari; pilot, surfer and skateboard maker Spandan Banerjee; fashion stylist Chandni Sareen; Imaad Shah and Saba Azad of the swing band duo Madboy/ Mink and poi dancer Sumaiya Sayed have been featured into the campaign to represent the whole idea of expressing oneself freely. Each one of these personalities have pursued their dreams which is not your orthodox career options but something much bigger and better than that, something creative, something that drives them with passion.

This is the part that drew me in, as I am myself doing something which is not traditionally considered as a career option especially in India. I know what kind of problems you have to face if you decide to pursue your dream. I tell people (Read relatives) that I am a blogger and the reaction I get from them goes something like this "Ummm...ok. But what do you really do, as in a job?".

The campaign video shows these guys in action and speaks of the core thought behind this campaign: self-expression. The video urges people to value their identity and individualism. The message implies that every individual is the star of a show that’s their own life and they are the only one in power to make or break it. The campaign just doesn't make a statement but validates it by featuring those who exemplify its meaning and worth.

Here are a few behind-the-scenes images I got my hands on!

Along with the series of videos that are being released on Bedhead’s YouTube channel, the Bedhead – This Is Me microsite also hosts a contest asking you all to get your hair styled in a salon just the way you want to, so as to express your individuality of style and get a selfie clicked with your stylists. The winner gets to go to a Music Festival in Barcelona, the biggest party this Summer with one of your best buddies. On the side, there is another incentive to this contest by which the most voted stylist will get to win a scholarship for a course at TIGI training academy in London, UK.

So, gear up guys! You can win an all expense paid trip to Barcelona with your best buddy! Could there be anything better than this? I don't think so.

Good Luck!"

This blazer had been hanging in my closet brand-spanking-new for more than 4 months. One day while arranging my closet, I realized it still had the price tag on it and then and there I decided, my next outfit was going to be styled around this beautiful blush blazer.

Blazers are staple pieces in a girl's wardrobe. You can never have enough. I own nine of them and I am still always on the lookout for more. You need to start building your collection from the basics. Once you have the perfect tailored fit black blazer, the next one you should get is a nude or blush color which is very versatile and goes with many outfits. Once you have these two, you can venture out for more variety like patterned ones, a bold bright blue blazer, or a fuschia georgette blazer, etc. But then again, who am I to tell you where to begin, if you feel like you can pull off a fuschia blazer on the first go, by all means, go ahead and let the bright hued blazer be your first ever. The idea is to own the final look and let your personality reflect through your outfit.

For me, I like to begin with basics. My first blazer was a tailored fit black Zara blazer(Click HERE) which still fits perfectly and to be honest, it was the most expensive one too. I knew it was an investment as a black blazer is a wardrobe staple. I have worn it countless number of times now, and it is still in prime condition. Money well spent.

You can style your blazers with practically anything! No, really! You can wear them with maxi dresses, maxi skirts, trousers, denims, shorts, skirts, heck, just throw it over any outfit and they can instantly make your outfit look so much better! I styled this blazer keeping the warm weather in mind. I kept it very simple with a white top and high waist shorts and kept the accessories to the minimum too. I felt a necklace would totally distract the attention from the outfit as a whole. I wanted it to be a clean and chic look. The white earring doesn't disturb the tone of the outfit and the clutch adds an interesting element. All in all, I like how it came out. What do you guys think?

xoxo,
Stay Chic!

Designer Diggs: Elitista by Jyotsna Kapoor

{Jacket - Elitista by Jyotsna Kapoor, Spaghetti top/Shoes/Rings/Earrings - Forever 21, Skirt - Koovs, Bag - H&M, Belt - Promod}

As the Monsoon is upon us, there is a nip in the air and the wind is suddenly cooler at night. At times like these, I like to carry a light jacket to drape over my shoulders when the sun bids goodbye. This jacket from Elitista by Jyotsna Kapoor has been my recent favorite and I have been pairing it with so many outfits, it's not even funny! The beautiful golden work in the front and the draped lines at the back, and the finishing, all these features have me drooling over this beautiful piece of craftsmanship.

I wanted to keep the jacket as the focus of the look so I paired it with an all black outfit and red pout (Click HERE for the Red Pout makeup breakdown). The spaghetti top and the skirt formed a faux bodycon dress and to make sure that my waist did not vanish in all that black, I added a tan belt to emphasize on the waist area. The shoes were bold and edgy to go with the feel of the jacket. The jacket gives out a strong vibe, you need to be confident enough to pull it off. And the shoes complements the jacket and the red pout adds to the whole theme. This outfit is very strong and statement making, and I felt very confident and good about myself in general that day. I think it's the silhouette of the outfit, it flatters the body in the best way possible.

This jacket was initially a part of an Anarkali I wore to my friend's Sangeet ceremony. The fit and the finish of the whole attire was exemplary! I have never been so impressed with a relatively new designer's work. Jyotsna Kapoor might be new to this industry but she knows what she is doing when it comes to custom fitting the garments and giving the best finishing. You can turn the whole attire inside out and there won't be one single seam out in the open, it's almost like you can wear it inside out and nobody will really notice!

About the designer:
Jyotsna Kapoor launched her label Elitista almost one year ago. Strongly focused on providing the best Indianwear designs at the most affordable prices along with the best fit and finish, she drove herself with passion for creating. She has come a long way in a short span of time and all the credit goes to her hard work and creative designs. Her USP, the draped sarees along with fully gold work backless blouses (same work as you see in my jacket) are most hot-selling products today. Her anarkali suits are also highly in demand because of the quality, fit and finish. There are very few designers in the industry who focus on these details, most I have seen compromise on the quality of the fabric and never gives perfect finishing. But I was very very impressed with Jyotsna Kapoor, the quality of fabric she used, the fit of the dress and the finishings, the customer service was impeccable too. Couldn't have been happier with my purchase!
