Talking Tuesday: Episode 6

An effort to revive Talking Tuesdays...Coz I have received like a hundred messages from you guys that you all loved it and wanted me to continue with the series :)

1. Hey Srish,
Dandruff is my major concern. I have an oily scalp but my hair are silky smooth. I have been using Selsun medicated shampoo for dandruff once a week but every time I use it, it makes my hair dry. I am looking for a better alternative. Please help.
- Manali
I would recommend you to use a deep conditioner on your hair after you wash it. Try Hydrating Hair Mask by Moroccan Oil, it has helped me a lot in just two uses and I am sure it will help you too. Also, use hair oil on your hair at least 30 minutes before you wash your hair, I would recommend Kesh King Hair Oil, it helps with the dandruff issue also.

2. How to do hair spa at home. What products and brands are trusted and what should be the time interval to be maintained.
- Manali
You can do Hair spa at home easily either using home-made packs or market-bought products. For home, use a mixture of egg white and lemon on your hair for 30 minutes before washing it off. If you want to go the easy way, you can try the Hydrating Hair Mask by Moroccan Oil that I recommended you.

3. Hi.. I love going through your blog as and when I get time. Especially Talking Tuesday!! I love your enthusiasm at such young age. My query is...
My legs are bit too dirty, dark and hard. I never got time for frequent pedicure. I am working women and it becomes bit too difficult for me to carry slipper or something which shows my leg off, making my leg appear manly. If you could suggest me something I could do to make it clean.
I have same problem with underarms too, for it gets dark even though I get waxed. and wearing sleeveless in summers become necessity. Thank you!
- Priyanka
I would recommend you get a pedicure once so that your feet gets free of all the dirt and grime. From there on, maintain the cleanliness by scrubbing your feet with pumice stone everyday while you take your bath. You can also slather on Vaseline every night before you go to sleep and wear socks to keep the moisture locked in for a longer period. This will help soften the hard tissues and eventually they can be scrubbed off. Use lemon juice to clean your feet and underarms every 3 days. That will help lighten the darkness of the skin.

4. Hi Srish,
Thats not done sweetie, so many replies to Akansha and assi kitthe vi nahi??
I sent you a query last week. I m 5 ft bulky married woman appx 68 kgs. I want to wear comfortable yet stylish clothes. Please suggest some good tips, awaiting reply this time :)
- Viju
Hi Viju, we must have not received your query may be due to some technical issues :)
For your height, I think you should go for clothes that lengthens and slims you. Try maxi skirts, maxi dresses, ankle length trousers, longer tops and introduce a little bit more height by wearing heels or wedges. If you are not comfortable in high heels, try kitten heels or 2" wedges. They add a little height while being comfortable for long hours as well. Vertical Stripes are also good for adding height and slimming down your figure.

5. Hi,
Got a pretty gift today...opened a box to discover this pretty denim dress and first thing that strikes my mind is to post you about it asking that how should I style it for a daytime event.
I am getting addicted to talking tuesday now :)
- Anonymous
Styling a denim dress is easier than you would think. It's one of the most versatile pieces and can be paired with flats, heels, wedges, almost anything. For colder months, wear tights and throw on a cardigan (mustard and burgundy colors compliment denim a lot) and add a scarf. In Summers, you could wear it as it is with a nice pair of shoes. Add a belt to accentuate your waist and make it look more glamorous.

6. Looking for a good face powder...which one would you recommend??(high end ones)...and could you mention the prices as well...
- Madhuri
As far as I have tried, Chanel Vitalumiere Eclat compact is the best. It's priced at Rs.3800/-. A more affordable option is MAC Blot Powder priced at around Rs.1500/-.

7. Hello princess...I just love ur style..My height is 5'7" and complexion is wheatish to dusky...plzzz suggest me some beautiful colors to get great match with my skin tone...
- Mushu
For your complexion, I think there are lots of colors that would look gorgeous on you. My top picks would be subtle pink with hints of beige in it, a subdued coral, fuschia and red.

8. Hi Srish, I am a big fan of your blog :) I have curly shoulder length hair its super dry, can u suggest me some good hair care products and some nice hairstyles I can do with my curls.
- Anonymous
I feel like I am advertising MoroccanOil, lol! But really, the hair masks from MoroccanOil are very good for dry hair. And with your hair length, you can do so much! Try curling it and then backcombing the crown section for sexy bedhead look. you can try the hairband bun by tucking all your hair in an elastic hairband. It is very easy, looks super cute and when you open it, you get lots of beautiful waves in your hair.

9. Hey, can you please recommend some good online sites for buying jewelry and dresses(specifically maxi ) ?
- Nisarga
For jewellery, I prefer going to asos.com and if you want to buy from an Indian website, faballey.com, stylefiesta.com and koovs.com are really good. Same goes for maxi dresses!

10. Hey, I actually am in a dire need of a good wallet but can't seem to select any.Can you give me few ideas with brands and style in medium range(1k-2k).I usually carry money, change cards and a lip gloss in it. Thanks.
- Vaishali
I recently got a new wallet so I can understand the confusion it involves. Try finding a neutral color like gold, beige, nude, black or white which will never go out of style and will compliment almost all of your outfits. Check out jabong.com or Done by None for some cute budget friendly options.

Have a fabulous week ya'all!! xoxo

Talking Tuesday: Episode 5

tt8

Hello guys!! It seems like I haven't blogged in a realllllly long time! And it is truly so as I am always busy these days. The job is taking over my life but honestly, I don't mind as I love my job! My colleagues are super nice and my boss is the best! She is very sweet, friendly and chic and helps me out with all the beginner obstacles. But, in the midst of completely occupied 6 working days and the only Sunday where I pile up all my blog work, I have missed two Talking Tuesday posts and I genuinely apologise (Again! I know!). I still have the list of the requested posts (skincare, haircare, etc routine) and I will do them for sure. Now before I waste more of my precious few hours before I start feeling sleepy, let's begin!

1. Help me style a pair of white linen pants?
- Anonymous
White linen pants are best worn in Summers. Pair them with pastel hues for a soft summery vibe and and keep the accessories minimal. If you do wanna wear some bling, go for statement cuffs rather than necklaces or earrings. The linen pants have sort of comfy sporty feel to it, so choose your accessories accordingly. White on white look is also a good idea if you can pull it off. Pair the pants with a white linen soft blazer and wear a semi-sheer white tank underneath for a very summery but high-fashion look.

2. Hi, I'm only 5ft tall and chubby married woman. What kind of style should I follow to look good. I always fall in love with those sweet dresses floating on all the websites but they are only for petite girls.
I want to follow the style which I can carry without caring of my weight and height.
help me
- Viju
People with your kind of body type usually hide their figure in loose clothing, but if worn correctly, the fitted dresses can look just as good on you as on the models! Don't be afraid of trying out what you like, you might be surprised how good it looks on you! Showing off your neckline, forearms and a little leg looks classy and it would help you look longer and leaner. Opt for tapered trousers, soft georgette shirts in darker and smaller prints. One thing you should avoid is wearing big prints, they can emphasize wrong places very easily, go for busy and smaller prints for a slender look.

3. Plz suggest a good, long-staying foundation and a compact powder (along with shade name) to set it. I have T-zone problem and i'm a medium skin toned person.
- K
If you are looking for a medium to heavy coverage foundation, go for MAC ProLongwear Foundation along with MAC Blot Powder. The foundation will last you a really long time and is very cost effective as you need a very tiny amount to cover your whole face. The Blot Powder is a really amazing product from MAC and I have already gone through 2 of these. It soaks up all the oil on your face and keeps your face looking matte all day long. You will hardly need to reapply once or twice if you are in a humid weather conditions.

4. Plz suggest a hair fixing spray or serum after straightening my hair.
Recently i got the philips hp8310 hair straightener (i read ur post of hp8310 and just went for it).
But i couldn't leave my hair free after straightening..if i don't use a hair clutch.. within a few minutes it gets frizzy and the straightening effect fades away. Help me :(
- K
Use MorocconOil Serum or any anti-frizz serum like from John Frieda or Kerastase. If you live in too humid conditions, it's better to k=just avoid straightening all together coz no matter how good the straightener is, your hair WILL frizz up. So, it's better to spare your hair from all the heat and try some nice updo or heatless hairstyles.

5. Pls suggest a good primer and a setting spray ( i'm in oh-so-hot Chennai weather) and also suggest me a good oil-free moisturizer for face. Thank u!
- K
Few of the best primers are the Makeup Forever Primer and Smashbox Primer. For setting spray, I love the Urban Decay All Nighter but due to it's unavailability in India, try MAC's Fix+ Spray, have read a lot of good reviews about it.

6. Hi, I have curly and dry hair. Regular oil massages, hair spas, conditioning - I do everything! Yet I've been losing a lot of hair recently. What can I do about it? I love my curls and don't want to change the style.
- Ishita
So glad to hear that you love your natural curls. People generally crave for what they don't have. Don't be too alarmed about loosing a lot of hair, in this season everybody looses hair. I have been shedding a lot of hair as well, it worried me too but you can;t really do a lot about it. Just eat healthy, take lots of protein rich diet and pamper your hair, the phase will pass :)

7. Hi, I am a working girl and have recently put on a lot of weight. I think wearing Indian clothes somewhat camouflages the bulges. Can you suggest some Indian looks for an hourglass figure? I'm 5'4" and 59kgs. Thanks :)
- Ishita
Judging from your height and weight, I think you are in perfect figure! You don't really need to worry about it but if it helps you, you can wear kurti tops over denims or leggings. Casual cotton anarkali suits are also very much in trend and I have myself seen them in my office. The head designer at my office wears a lot of anarkali suits which are very casual but looks very elegant and chic. Skip the dupatta.

8. I love lipsticks and have about 20+ bright lippies which look really good on me. I somehow feel that a nude or no color makes me look very dull inspite of a heavy eye. What would you suggest for a toned down lip. Also, I don't like the feel of glossy lips - I love rich color and matte most of the times.
Thanks Srish! :)
- Ishita
For nude lips, try a lip color which has hints of peach or pink in it. I am listing down few very good options for you, try them out whenever you are in the mall, and see which one suits you the best!
- Rouge Dior Nude "418 Ingenue" by Dior [My personal favorite lippie to pair with smokey eye look]
- Mac Cosmo
- Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in "My Mahogany"
- Lakme Lip Love Lip Color in "Love Haze"
- Colorbar Lipstick in "Bare"

9. Hey!! My question is very typical for me but I never got a good solution to my problem! But I'm sure you will answer it! I'm Sikh by religion and can't get a haircut, because of that my ends are very light ,colourless , rough and split ends ! How to maintain all this without cutting??? Thanks
- Harjas kaur
I can understand your problem but split ends is something that cannot be repaired. However, you can go for deep nourishing treatments and use a mixture of yogurt and honey on the ends. Apply the mixture on the ends and keep it for 15-20 minutes, rinse with cold water so that it seals in the moisture. Another hairmask you can try is a mixture of mayo and avocado. Here’s what you do: take a full jar of full fat mayonnaise and one half of one very mashed up avocado. Mix well and apply to your hair. After 20 minutes rinse your hair in cold water.

10. I bought a black leather blazer a few months back and I'm having a hard time styling it. Its different from the average fabric blazers. Please help.

- Shivika
A black leather blazer is something I consider Wardrobe Essential Piece! it is actually rather easy to style. You can refer to the links below for styling ideas:

1. Suggest one eyeshadow base that is easily available in Delhi. Heard of mac painterly paint pots, maybelline color tattoos.
- Akansha
I use Urban Decay Primer Potion and it is one of the best primers out there. But, it's not available in India so the second best is easily MAC paint pot in "Painterly". It smooths out the skin tone and help your eyeshadows be more vibrant and long-lasting.

2. In reference to the link below
http://www.stylefashionetc.in/2012/07/travel-chic-what-to-pack-in-your.html
I have heard that razor should not be used as the hair becomes hard. Please tell me if its okay to use it for underarms etc
- Akansha
It is not okay to use razor for your underarms as the skin is very sensitive and it can become darkened with prolonged use of razor. However, I sometimes use razor on my legs but it's only for emergencies. When I wrote that post, I was travelling out of country and even when I got waxing done before leaving, it can grow back a little in 2 weeks, hence I carried my trusted razor.

3. Hey i love your style.
I have fair skin but major problem are my ask circles. Don't know why they are there but I get so irritated. Please tell a remedy and also a great concealer.can any BB cream camouflage it?
- kaveri
A BB cream won't be able to cover up your dark circles at all. You would need a heavy duty concealer for this purpose.
I would recommend these:
Free of Cost! - Drink lots of water, sleep for at least 6 hours a day and eat cucumber or use slices of it on your eyes once a week.
Inexpensive - Krylon Concealer
Affordable - MAC Concelaer
Expensive - Bobbi Brown Corrector & Concealer Duo

4. Trying not to spam. But have too many questions.
Which cleanser/makeup remover is better ? cream based or oil-water based ? suggest one. M using bioderma sensibio as face wash and makeup remover suggested by dermatologist.
- Akansha
You are not spamming anyone, dear. Talking Tuesday is here to serve a purpose and you can ask us any query and however number of times you feel like! :)
The best and the most inexpensive makeup remover is J&J Baby Wipes. Trust me, I go through packs and packs of these and it never breaks me out. Still, if you want to use a proper makeup remover, it depends on your skin type. If you have very oily skin, avoid an oil based remover. And always use an alcohol free makeup remover, it can really dry out your skin.

5. I have very frizzy hair. Tried john frieda, mythic oil but did no good. Now, I'm using moroccan oil and its hair mask. Will start using its shampoo soon. I can see the difference but it's still not satisfactory. For past one year, I'm confused whether or not go for these smoothening keratin stuff. Please help.
- Anonymous
MoroccanOil products are not the usual types which will drastically change your hair and give very short-lived results. But what's special about MoroccanOil products is that it has long-term effects. It will repair your hair from within and your hair will get healthier and shinier with constant use. At least, that was my experience. As far as Keratin Smoothening is concerned, go for it if you really want/need it! Everything has it's side-effects, make sure you know both sides of the treatment before getting it done.

6. Suggest some good brands which have comfortable footwear. Not above 2 inches heel. Also, preferably within 1k.
- Akansha
If you are looking for a good brand with comfortable shoes, I would suggest you should invest a little. I have learned this the hard way, with thousands of money down the drain and no comfortable shoes, I started investing in them and I have a decent quality collection now. They are the base of your personality, if you are not comfortable, it will reflect in your confidence.
Having said all that, you can still check out Shopper Stop, Lifestyle, Forever 21, but make sure you try them out nicely and see if you are comfortable or not. Good Luck!

7. Forever new had one white makeup/accessories box. Not a good collection like u said. I visited their store at Ambience mall, Gurgaon. Any other place that u can suggest?
- Akansha
I already addressed this query of yours in my last post's introduction paragraph [HERE] :)
And I would like to add to that, Forever 21 has some really cute makeup pouches!

8. You suggested Bobbi Brown Luminous Moisturizing Foundation for makeup base or foundation? I already am using MAC studio fluid foundation.
- Akansha
Well, if you already have MAC's foundation and it's serving the purpose, I don't see why you need to buy a new one. Studio Fluid Foundation is supposed to be quite good.

9. How frequently should one get haircut? With frizzy and long hair, ponytails look more like a horsetail to me now. What hairstyles will suit my hair type other than braids?
- Akansha
You can get a haircut whenever you feel like your hair is getting limp and lifeless. Also, keep checking for split-ends, the moment you spot them, you know it's time to get a cut! I usually get a haircut every six months. Try a top knot bun, it's very trendy, looks good on almost everyone and it's super easy too.

10. I have always wanted to work with you. I really do. It is my dream. What are my chances? :)
- Ahem
Aww..That's really sweet of you, dear. But, I am not taking interns. The blog is a hobby that I enjoy doing with a little help from Mr.A but that's about it. I really wish I could help you out but I am sorry! But I will still strongly recommend you to start your blog and put your creativity out there. I am sure you will do very good!

Hope this Episode helped you guys out! I am really liking that I get a chance to interact with you all :)

Talking Tuesday: Episode 3

tt8

Hello guys! I am so glad I managed to do this post today. I was afraid I might slip again and skip a Tuesday but I am trying to be strict to myself and post every Tuesday. I also want to apologize to you guys as few posts I had promised in the last two episodes of Talking Tuesday lika a Haircare post, Skincare post, few video tutorials, etc haven't gone up by the promised time. But I ensure you, they are on my To-Do list and I will do them.

A reader had asked in the previous episode about makeup kits, I had suggested Forever New but apparently, the sale has ended and so has their stock of cute makeup kits. So, I would suggest you visit Colobar and pick up their super cute makeup kits in different sizes and colors. I have one in yellow which I use as my Toiletry Kit when I travel, you can see how it looks here in the "Travel Chic: What I pack in my Toiletry Kit & a few tips" post.

Now onto this week's queries!

1. I've big n broad feet. What kind of footwear should I go for? Please post pics with whatever types you're gonna suggest.
- Akansha
I feel you girl! I have the same problem, I too, am a big foot girl! So, basically you can check out all kinds of footwear I choose for my outfit posts and you can rock them all as well. Below are few more styles you can wear:

Try to opt for shoes with coverage around the broadest part of your feet so that you get proper support and the not so attractive part of your feet is hidden. You can also wear strappy shoes if you want, just keep in mind that the straps go around the broadest part of your feet and not the toes and coz that would be very very uncomfortable.

2. Losing some hair near forehead ends. Do u know any tried n tested solution?
- Akansha
Chances are you are not only losing the hair on your forehead but your hair as a whole is thinning, but you can only see the front part. Take good care of your hair. Give oil massages, deep conditioning treatments every week, and use good quality shampoo and conditioners.

3. How to wear a perfume ?
- Anonymous
For a perfume to last you a good few hours, you should wear them near your nerves. I have read that perfumes stay longer on you if you do so. Spray your wrists, insides of your elbow, nape of the neck, etc. It is also said that perfume rises up, so spray some on the insides of your knees. To finish off, spray a little cloud of the perfume and walk through it. I like to swirl rather than walk though! :P

4. I've acne prone skin. Never got bleach done. Does bleach increases hair density on face? Which bleach is good? And should I start with it
- Anonymous
I use Oxybleach and it's pretty good and easy to use and no, it does not increases the hair density on the face. But, since you have acne problems, I would suggest you consult a good dermatologist before bleaching coz even if I don't have acne problems and by God's grace my skin is pretty clear, I get red blotches after I bleach, which goes away in a few hours but still, if it has such an effect on me then you should really be careful.

5. What all a girl must carry in her handbag n wallet?
- Akansha
Cash, Credit/Debit Cards, ID Cards, Store Membership Cards (if any) and some change in the wallet. And in handbag: Hair Brush, Wallet, Sunglasses, Gum, Pen, Keys, Lip Balm, Blotting Powder/Tissues, Lipstick, Small Mirror, Nail Filer, Sanitary Napkins, Tampons, a small kit containing safety pins, hairpins, hair ties, etc., a small diary and an umbrella. Well, at least this is what I carry in my bag :)

6. Is it possible to alter waist of jeans?
- Anonymous
Well, technically it's possible but I would advice you against it. The altering would strip off the neat look at the waist and if you don't alter the legs of the jeans, it would look very unflattering. You would be better off with a new one, trust me!

7. I get under skin hair on legs leaving dark spots. What to do?
- Anonymous
Scrub scrub scrub! The skin that is prohibiting the new hair to grow is most probably dead skin, which will come off if you scrub lightly every time you take bath and will make way for the hair to grow out.

8. Some trends that I can buy this sale season?
- Anonymous
Lots of prints and patterns, whites, lace, square sequins, muscle tanks, crochet, fit and flare dresses(skater dresses), tailored shorts and cropped pants. The collarless jackets as well as the bomber jackets will also be big next Spring/Summer 2014.

9. How to store makeup brushes so as to prevent dust settling into bristles? How frequent should one wash makeup brushes? What are your must have brushes? Do specify the brand.
- Akansha
Keep your brushes in a brush stand and don't bother about dust settling into it much coz chances are there isn't a lot of dust floating around in your bedroom or dressing room. I keep my makeup in a cabinet for extra protection so you could do that too. You should wash your brushes once in two weeks at least, or once a week if you use them frequently.
My must have brushes would be a Face Stippling Brush, Blush Brush, Bronzer Brush, Kabuki Brush, Flat Eyeshadow Brush, Eyeshadow Applicator Brush, Blending Brush, Pencil Brush and a precise angled brush. I use ELF, Ambika Pillai, QVS, Mac, etc.

10. I'm not very comfortable in wearing off shoulder or deep neck dresses. What kind of bra should one wear for revealing dresses?
- Anonymous
This is a question that lingers in almost every girl's mind! You should invest in a multi-way bra which you can find at La Senza or Marks & Spencer. There are various kinds of bras to choose from, for example, for deep necklines, go for halter neck bras or the regular ones. For maximum comfort and support, go for balconette bra. For backless dresses, go for clear back-strap or silicone bra or even the silicone glue-strap bras which are available in Marks & Spencer.

Talking Tuesday: Episode 2

tt8

The second episode of Talking Tuesday is finally here! Our apologies for not posting last week, we were supposed to catch a flight to Mumbai (which you all must know why by now!) on Wednesday Morning and time just flew by before we had time to sit down and prepare the post.

Anyways, this also led us to the conclusion that doing Talking Tuesday every week might not be possible as every single post takes between 3-4 hours to complete. So, instead of making it alternate Tuesday post, we are going to put a limit to the questions which is 10 questions for each post.

So, without further delay, Let's Begin...

1. Hey Srish!
I like the way you ensemble various looks and look so chic.
My query is that what should I wear to look lean because I have a heavy upper body whereas I am quite slim when it comes to the lower body . I feel a bit uncomfortable due to this.

- Vibha
Your focus should be to balance the upper and lower body. And your options aren't that limited, trust me! To balance out everything, go for a chic fitted top, not too fitted though so as not to emphasize on the heavy upper body and balance it out with palazzo pants, maxi skirt or straight pants. I would suggest you steer clear of the tapered trousers.
You can also create a camouflage of slimmer body by wearing shorts and pairing it with a long v-neck tee and a structured blazer. The V-neck with elongate your torso and give an slimmer body effect. Be confident in anything you wear, your body is unique and you should be proud of that! Take inspiration from Bandana Tiwari's Fashion Sense!

2. Can you tell me the name of bobbi brown base that I should buy? Also, is there any particular way of choosing a base?
- Akansha
Bobbi Brown's Luminous Moisturizing Foundation is quite popular. However, I would suggest not to go with the popularity coz what suits one person may not suit you.
In order to choose a base, you should first find out your skin type. Based on that, you can go for Water based, oil based, silicon based, etc foundations. Ask the salesperson, they are generally helpful.

3. Share with us your favorite lipsticks and maybe swatches too.
- Akansha
My absolute favourite lipsticks are Rouge Dior Nude 418 "Ingenue", MAC "Vegas Volt" & Maybelline 14 Hour SuperStay Lipstick in "Non-Stop Red".

4. Hey.. I got a chambray shirt...but not sure how to style it... The size is quite big and its a loose one... thanks :)
- Meka
Oh! How I love a shirt! So many ways to style it! I am enlisting a few posts I used a shirt in, not necessarily a Chambray shirt but you can style your shirt in similar ways:

5. Love your blog...and thanks for Talking Tuesday!
Hair Fall - anti hair fall shampoo...not working
- regular hot oil massage - still not working...
- Neel
How about going the Au Naturel way! Use a homemade pack of one egg white mixed with 1 tbsp lime juice on your hair for about half an hour and then wash. Change your shampoo, use one with no SLS in it's ingredients (Sodium Lauryl Sulphate). I would recommend J&J Baby Shampoo, MoroccanOil Moisture Repair Shampoo and TIGI Moisture Maniac shampoo. Your hair needs more moisture and care, give it that and the hair fall will surely stop :)

6. summer makeup routine that won't MELT!!!??? :O :O :O
thank you xxxx
- Anonymous
Use a good primer and finish off with a setting spray. Avoid wearing too much foundation in humid weather, just a few drops of BB Cream or tinted moisturizer along with a long lasting concealer would do the trick!

7. I have waist length naturally straight hair. i have been going through hairfall issues quite for quite some time now. could you give me some tips on how i can deal with it? :)
Also, I use the tresemme hairfall control shampoo and conditioner. its not working that well. any better alternative?
- Pooja
Throw out the Tresemme Shampoo and bring home MoroccanOil products. Best decision I ever made!

8. Which brand has the best makeup brushes in India? Looking specifically for powder brush. Ambika pillai , lakme absolute or some other.
- Akansha
Go for MAC brushes, they are an investment and will last a long time.

9. Where to buy a makeup kit from? Have seen a few at newU which they give after buying cosmetics worth 2000 approx.
- Akansha
Try Forever New. They have the cutest makeup boxes!

10. Your favorite mac lipsticks? On my lust list, I've ruby woo and impassioned. I'm gonna buy my very first lipsticks. Are these two good choices to buy? I want four shades : Red, Pink, Orange ( wearable ), Nude..
- Akansha
My favourite MAC lipstick is Vegas Volt. If you are going to buy your first lipstick from MAC, then try Cosmo, it's a very pretty everyday shade.

Leave your queries for the next Episode HERE!!!!

Till next Tuesday!!

Talking Tuesday: Episode 1

tt8

First of all, I want to thank all of you lovely girls out there for such an amazing response!! It's really overwhelming to see so many queries pouring in! When me and A first came up with this idea, we brainstormed for hours deciding the name, designing the logo (The 8th logo was finalized!), creating the Query Page, etc etc. To be honest, I was a little nervous, what if there are very few queries, what if the plan fails, what if! But, you all have been extremely sweet asking questions, sending compliments and believing in me. I feel very blessed to have an opportunity to help even a few of you!

Okay, so enough of that! Let's jump right into the Q's & A's part coz there's a LOT to cover up in one single post!!

1. According to you what are the three must haves when it comes to makeup? I mean foundation, concealer, mascara, lipstick etc. If you had to pick three what would it be?
- Ayesha
I believe that a good base is what makes the makeup look like a million dollar. If you ignore that and do your eyeshadow, blush, lipstick, etc, then it would just look wrong! Even for the people with amazing skin, a little BB cream or tinted moisturizer would even out the skin tone and make the whole makeup look amazing.
So, I would say, Foundation, Concealer and Eyebrow Powder are the three most important products in general. Properly shaped and filled brows can make you look pulled together in seconds.
Personally, if I had to choose, I would pick Foundation, Concealer and a Tinted Lip Balm. My eyebrows are naturally thick so I can get away without filling them in. However, my lips are very pale and I like to keep them moisturized 24*7 so a tinted lip balm is a must for me!

2. Hey Srish, how do you prevent getting tanned in the Delhi sun?! I am moving to Delhi for college, I'm moving from a cold country where it is hardly ever sunny, and therefore I would love to know how u stay fair in delhi!! :/
- Sneha
To be quite honest, I do not pay much attention to tanning problems because I do not like to spend time under the sun, except when we shoot for blog. That eliminates the possibility of getting tanned to a great extent. I have also developed the habit of using sunscreen if I am going out anytime before 6pm in the evening(Neutrogena has one of the best affordable sunscreens you can ever find).I also keep one tube in my bag so that I can re-apply on my hands and arms whenever I need to. I also have this habit of scrubbing my whole body every time I take a shower, it takes off the dead and damaged skin and always keeps the skin glowing and fresh. Try the Scrubbing gloves from The Body Shop with any good shower gel. Hope this helps you in some way. And Welcome to India by the way!

3. How do I style a pair of Tropical Print Shorts??????...

4. Can you do a post on your everyday hair routine?
- Josie
You got it! I will publish the post by next Tuesday. Keep a lookout for the same!

5. What is the best way to handle frizzy hair? Which products are the BEST ? Suggest shampoo, conditioner, hair mask, oil/serum, hair styles , etc.
- Akansha
As answered in the question above, I will give you all the information in a separate post completely dedicated to Hair and all your queries will be answered there! Check back by next Tuesday!

6. Which cleanser, toner and moisturiser would you suggest for oily acne prone skin?I also have scars and open pores.
- Fiona
I would suggest a mild cleanser like Kiehls's Ultra Facial Cleanser. It is very gentle and would not irritate or dry out the skin. For Toner, try Neutrogena's Oil Free Toner or Clean&Clear's Deep Cleaning Astringent. Lush's Enzymion is a very good moisturizer for oily skin, and remember, no matter how oily your skin is, it is never advised to skip the moisturizer. Oil secretion means that skin is lacking moisture and hence producing more and more oil to keep it naturally moisturized. But if you provide the moisturization it needs, slowly the oil secretion would decrease. Try the spot treatment by Clean& Clear for your acne problems.

7. Can you do a skin care routine?
- Fiona
Sure! But, this week I have already promised for a Hair Care Post so how about you check back by 15th August, the Skincare post shall be published by then.

8. I want to Buy the Moroccan oil serum. Plz let me know from where I can buy it.
- Priyanka
You can find the Moroccanoil products in any high-end salons like Looks, Affinity, etc.

9. My makeup routine is limited to kajal, lip balm and occasionally, compact powder and BB cream. I'd like to know more about blushes, lipsticks and what basics are required to create a natural yet glowing look. A simple, beginner level yet complete tutorial on how to apply, in what order to apply etc. would be greatly appreciated!!
- Fab
Well, it's a lot to cover in a small paragraph! But nevermind, I will make sure to film a video tutorial explaining everything step by step and would publish it by the end of August. Please check back by then :)

10. I have a Mac primer...I bought it a few months back...but a month back I noticed that the primer spoiled in a way like milk curdles. (became watery and the solid part looked like curd)....and I took it to the store and the Mac guys were cool enough to replace it for me(I had barely used it) but I recently noticed that the primer seems as if its gonna spoil again( noticed a little water like something) ..I went to the mac store and they shook the tube well...and it was alright then...but I am afraid that it might spoil again...help!!!
- Anonymous
I understand your confusion as I have had the exact same problem with my Mac Primer. In the beginning, a little shake before use solved the problem but in later months, all I could squeeze out of the tube was oil. The tube would leak like a water tap! Do not invest in Mac Primers! Go for Benefit or Bobbi Brown.

11. Please tell me some nice hairdos? I am a college going student and I can't leave my hair open everyday. So suggest some nice pin-ups or stuff? Thank you :)
- Neelashi
One of the easiest hairstyles is a Sock Bun. To know how to do it, click HERE. I am also planning to start video tutorials soon as I get a lot of requests to do hairstyling videos. So, more tutorials will be published after 15th August. Stay Tuned!

12. Lipstick never stays on my lips. Please can you recommend some long-lasting lipsticks?
- Dolly Desoza
For long lasting lipsticks, I find the Maybelline 14 hour Stay Lipsticks are the best. They are a little drying though, so make sure you have scrubbed and moisturized your lips nicely before you apply.

13. Hey hi..Do u have any idea from where I can own a beanie cap..? And also summer jackets/blazer..
Thanx :))
- Shweta Shetty
You can buy a beanie from Forever 21 or Vero Moda but they will be available after October. For Summer Blazers/ Jackets, check out Zara, Forever 21 and Mango. They have sleeveless blazers with amazing fit and designs.

14. Hi, this is surbhi here, I have a favorite bag which was gifted by someone very special and now I have the bag but the handles are totally ruined. I am keeping it with me as I told that its special for me but I really wish to find a way through which I can get it revamped. If your gyaan can help me some way I will be flying high..believe me that it's really important for me.
- Surbhi Agarwal
There is a way! Just go to "Pressto" and ask them to fix your bag! It's as easy as that! :)
Pressto outlets are in many markets, few of them being Vasant Vihar Market, Khan Market, etc.Good Luck! Let me know how it goes.

15. I have to attend a reunion with my college friends and we are going to wear the same skirt that we bought together in final year ..how should I style it..please help ...I have just ten days time to plan everything.
- Surbhi Agarwal
The skirt looks very chic and it would look amazing when styled properly. The waistband and the pocket openings are not very flattering so I would suggest concealing that somehow. Iron out the skirt first of all(obviously! :P).
The yellow embroidery is beautiful and while styling we should keep in mind to use the flouncy shape of the skirt and to show off the yellow embroidery. Wear the skirt high on your waist till the hem hits a couple of inches above your knees. Now, time to hide the waistband and the pocket openings! Pair the skirt with a soft cream georgette shirt(Fold up the sleeves casually and do not tuck the shirt in!) or a peplum top. Add a thin belt in a neutral brown shade at the thinnest part of your waist. Throw on some statement necklace and chic heels and you will be the talk of the reunion! Take inspiration from this picture HERE. Do not forget to send us a picture after you have styled it! Have fun!

16. Hey, Just wanted you to know firstly i love your style its amazing to see how you create different looks each time and those glasses definitely works for you!!!

Well I m personally quite into fashion myself and I have been following blogs, reading mags alot I just wnted to know do you guys have interns or maybe is there is a vacancy for asst stylist?? I have been dying to start up something myself and honestly can't imagine anything rather than being a fashion stylist!!! Thanks n Have a great day.
- Ankita B Banerjee
I am sorry dear but we do not take interns or asst.stylists. This blog is a hobby of mine and Aman, not a full time job. But why don't you start your own blog! You can document your work and see yourself grow as a stylist.

17. I am 20 years old with a height of 5'1... recently, I was gifted two palazzo pants by my friends- one is in light shade of green and -the other is blue with white polka dots.. I really want to wear them for my day outs but, am not quite sure as I am short and palazzo pants might end up making me look more shorter.... I also tried teaming with tank tops, but it doesn't work out well...coz I am on the heavier side(with fuller arms)...Please help me out.. on how to style the palazzos because i can't discard them as they have been gifted by my very close friends... :)

- Riri
Height has nothing to do with what you can and cannot wear. If you want to wear those palazzos, you can do so easily. Get the hem altered if you need to and wear them with sky high heels. It will actually make you legs look lean and longer. You can pair your palazzo pants with short sleeved T-shirts to hide your arms. Take inspiration from the picture HERE.

18. Building my makeup kit. Which is the best brand of lipsticks out of MAC, loreal, revlon, chambor?

- Akansha
You should look through different brands for different products. While Mac is good with their lipsticks, blushes, eyeshadows and concealers, Bobbi Brown is excellent at base makeup. I do not use L'oreal, Revlon and Chambor a lot so cannot really comment on those except that Revlon Lipsticks are good and Chambor Eyeliners are long lasting. Hope this helped :)
