Wouldn't life be simpler if you could match your dress to your lipstick and to your phone? Blues and greens mights not allow this sinister act but if one color is known to represent sin, love, lust and danger all at the same time, it is red and only this versatile color can allow this sinful indulgence. You can wear red head to toe and you will still be a style siren (unless you do it the Lady gaga way, remember the time she became a walking butcher shop?). I grabbed the opportunity to style a fierce red outfit when ASUS launched 'The Incredible Catwalk' campaign which is basically merging fashion and technology together and creating cases inspired by fashion and vice versa. Kim Jones, brand ambassador for ASUS launched this campaign and visited 7 countries and created 7 looks for the 7 cases inspired by the culture and traditions of that particular country. And guess what, the 'Glamour Red' case was styled and shot in India! It was only fitting that I chose this case, but I decided to give the look a modern and contemporary twist contrary to the cultural inspired outfit Kim had styled.
I styled this look to match the Zenfone 2 in Glamour Red, perfect for the sophisticated with a keen eye for fashion. An outfit that can seamlessly flow from office to an evening party.  And now it's your turn! ASUS is hosting a contest looking for the best cover design for Zenfone 2. You can get as creative as you want and design a case which if you get lucky can even be selected for production as one of the limited edition designs! And plus, you might get to win one of their weekly prized they are handing out!

Saree Clad

The traditional avatar kicks in as soon as the October month hits. There is something about the latter months of the year that just spells festivities. Diwali, dussehra, bhai dooj, etc and a huge pileup of wedding invitations compels us to gravitate towards and experiment more with our ethnic alter ego. I have been doing the same and this month, I have shot mostly indianwear and honestly, it's been a lot of fun! Even though I have no idea how to wrap a saree and drape it gracefully, I sure as hell can twirl around in them! Sarees are a fun way of exploring my roots and my heritage. Once you don this 5 meter long fabric, an automated grace can be noticed in your posture, the way you walk and conduct yourself. It is a nice feeling to get in touch with my feminine side which is usually not so prominent :P

This gorgeous tie-dye saree is by Ridhi Bansal and originally comes with a black blouse but I wanted it to have some color so I decided to style it with a different blouse. The red color looks much more festive, bright and paints a happy picture. Perfect attire to flaunt on the Diwali night, don't you think so?

Light up in Cobalt

{Crop Top - Hirika Jagani, Skirt - 431-88, Necklaces/Cuff/Rings - Forever 21, Clutch - Accessorize, Shoes - Tresmode}

I remember last year I joined a gym because I wanted to wear crop tops really badly. They were all the rage that season and I being a fatso, couldn't wear them no matter how much I wanted to. I do believe you should wear whatever you want but at the same time, I believe in dressing for your body type also. If I wouldn't feel confident in a crop top no matter how much I wanted to wear it, what's the point really? Your outfit is supposed to make you look presentable and help you feel more confident in your stride. So, I decided that I would work hard and wear crop tops as much as I wanted to in summers of 2015, and I did. I have lost 10kgs in last 1 year with an on and off gym routine and I need to shed off and tone a little more to get to my ideal body (Hint:KJ).

I have always gravitated towards outfits that gives my body an hourglass shape. And hence, the choice of this skirt! It's a beautifully draped skirt in a stunning color that would flatter most Indian skin tones and body shapes. With the perfect blend of sultry and elan, this skirt is a showstopper piece! That's the reason why I let the skirt be the star of this outfit. I can totally imagine this skirt with an ivory shirt and some dainty jewellery or paired with a printed sweatshirt and sneakers as well...Talk about versatility!

Living in Print

{Outfit - Ridhi Bansal, Hand Harness - Vinita Michael, Shoes - Intoto}

We all know this printed style is overdone. Every other designer is buying similar prints in different colors and making skirts, palazzo pants, crop tops, anarkali, etc using this print. But let's face it, it looks amazing and every girl wants to have a piece of this big trend. When I went to meet Ridhi Bansal and I spotted this piece hanging on the racks, I paid no heed to it initially and moved on until Ridhi took it out and showed me the crop top that went with it. The palazzo pants are something basic that maybe you can find or get stitched easily but the crop top was the star of this outfit and really stood out to me. The mesh panels, the back cutout and the intricate thread and beadwork bespoke hard work and creativity sewn in together. The color palette is also something I don't find repeatedly in indianwear garments and I knew I had to try it on and share the outfit with you guys.

This outfit would be perfect for an outdoor Sangeet or Mehandi function. You can get it customised in a color and print of your choice! Visit Ridhi Bansal's Facebook Page here: RIDHI BANSAL

Elephant in the Room

{Outfit - Ridhi Bansal, Earrings - Vintage store in Milan, Sunglasses - Style Fiesta, Shoes - Intoto}

With wedding invitations piling up and festivals like Diwali and Dussehra right around the corner, I figured why not style some indianwear attires and give you guys outfit ideas on how to dress for such occasions. I am a big fan of dressing up in Indianwear and giving the look a modern twist. This itch in particular led me to style this beautiful anarkali jacket with dhoti pants and a bandeau crop top. Originally, this anarkali jacket by Ridhi Bansal closes up till waist and it comes with a matching churidar and a bright pink dupatta. What I love most about this style is the cute elephant motifs! I mean, how cute are the pink and silver baby elephants!! The quirkiness of the motif with the traditional silhouette stands out in this outfit. Stay tuned for more looks by Ridhi Bansal as this label is my new find and I am in love with the pretty designs.

Printed Separates

{Coordinates - Koovs, Bag/Watch - Michael Kors, Scarf - Love Moschino, Earrings/Rings - Forever 21, Sunglasses - Aldo, Shoes - Marks & Spencer}

As a kid, I remember my mom dressing me up in matching co-ordinates and looking back at those pictures in my teenage years, I swore I would never dress up in such dorky outfits ever. But the fate had something else in mind and co-ordinates are back and how! Every store, be it physical or online, is stacking them in solid colors, prints, various silhouettes and what not. And I am myself now smitten with this trend and now own a whole range of matching co-ordinates of crop tops, pants, skirts, jackets and I still want more!

Matching separates is one of the hottest trends of the season. Co-ordinating your whole outfit in tailored separates or casual cropped outfits is the easiest way to sharpen your work attire or liven up your street styling. You can mould the trend to suit your taste and comfort level by either restricting yourself to solid colors or going all out with matching prints like stripes, floral and in my case here, nautical print. You can play with proportions by choosing a crop top with high-waisted bottoms or boxy jackets with pants. I like this trend mostly in crop tops and high waist skirts. It tends to create an illusion of slimmer waist by flaunting the slimmest part of your torso and by showing just a sliver of skin, it keeps the look classy too. Without flashing too much flesh, you can be on-trend and sexy!

It is also the most viable option for holidays! You can wear it as a whole outfit or mix and match the separates to create a whole new range of looks! Having 2-3 such coordinates will let you experiment with your outfits and by just swapping between your coordinates also you can get numerous options! So, go on and try this trend and do share the looks with me on my Facebook, Instagram or Twitter!

A date with Label Ritu Kumar

IMG_0861 copy

Label Ritu Kumar comes under the umbrella of the brand 'Ritu Kumar'. Label focuses more on contemporary and urban dressing for modern-age women and providing them easy solutions for everyday lifestyle. A sea of options are available when you visit the store, all the collection displayed in a beautiful color co-ordinated manner. The color story seamlessly flows from one palette to another through whites and creams, yellows and oranges, blues and green and reminds you of fluid nature of fashion. The one thing that is sure to catch your eye is the print play going on everywhere your eyes turn. They have absolutely stunning floral and abstract prints. The solid color shirts and trousers are no less interesting, with a partial print lining, they have the most interesting details which makes for perfect wardrobe staple pieces. Ofcourse, while we were there we sneaked a peek at the traditional wear they had to offer as well but I definitely had a gaga time trying on clothes from the Label collection!

This beautiful cotton floor length anarkali was the first piece that grabbed my attention the moment I walked into the store. I have an affection with darker colors and my life long affair with black and blues came into play and I knew I had to try this one on! And boy did I have fun trying it on! These are just few snippets of the gala that went on for at least 20 minutes. Judge all you may but a floor length anarkali that can twirl this good.....I am not even gonna explain myself for this one :P

This bright reddish orange jumpsuit paired with a long printed coverup shirt makes for a perfect outfit for relaxed summer afternoon. I can totally imagine myself wearing this outfit for a Sunday brunch or while out shopping.

What did I tell you about prints at Label? These ditsy floral print will give you a mini orgasm if you are a print lover! I decided to embrace the full print on print trend and go all out with the outfit. Loud and clear. This outfit could be just as perfect for office as it could be for a sophisticated evening soiree that does not require dressy outfit but it does require chic to be on the menu. The colors summarises Summer and all things pretty while still not being overwhelmingly girly. I like that a lot about this outfit. The bag is an accessory enough for this outfit. Probably my favorite outfit of the lot. No, wait! I love the anarkali too! Oh! Its so difficult to pick a favorite! You guys tell me, which outfit did you love the most?

Ciao,
