So, how is the festive and wedding season treating you all? I myself have been in a constant state of confusion and running around to designer stores for selections, fittings and what not. And with a part-time styling job and full-time blogging, time is not a luxury for me. Yes, you might be silently suggesting me online shopping to save time sifting through designer outfits while still sitting at home and finding my size, color and style but honestly tell me, haven't you ever wished for a designer drive-up service?  Spending all that hard-earned money on something you saw and liked on a computer screen might not feel as satisfying and justified. And the time crunch, injury, illness or some unexpected circumstances has been preventing you to visit the designer's store yourself to see, touch and feel the fabric, quality and make of the outfit. Will you be able to thank me enough if I tell you I found the solution to this problem?

Once Upon A Trunk recently launched it's website and guess what guys, they are offering home shopping service! You can book an appointment, tell them the occasion you want outfits for and your personalized trunk will be delivered to your doorstep along with a stylist to help you hand-pick the best suited silhouettes and accessories to you according to your body type and color while still keeping in mind your tastes and aesthetics. You can pay for what you love and send the rest back!

I opted to try out this service for an upcoming day wedding of a cousin. I wanted something classic with a bit of modern twist and in a day appropriate color which can effortlessly blend in for an evening function too in case the wedding stretches into the later hours. I discussed my complexion and body type along with my preferences of outfits with the OUAT team over the phone and the next day the customized trunk was at my doorstep for me to try! The surprising thing was that I fell in love with everything that was there in the trunk. It was like a personally curated pandora box for me and just me. The jewellery selection was stupendous and once I had everything on, nothing look forced or too much. It was perfect and I couldn't be happier! And guess what, the home shopping service is free the whole December! You do not have to pay any extra charges for the extra pain they go through to help you choose what you want and making you happy.

Apart from offering this home shopping service, they have pre-curated looks which you can buy on the spot. If you are in a time crunch, just go through the Styled Looks section and you will be sure to find the perfect fit for your occasion!

Do stop by the website and check out the amazing collection they have over there!

How to style a a saree in 3 different ways

Let's face it, whenever a friend gets engaged and sets a date for their marriage, apart from being happy for them you can't help but wonder what to wear for the million different ceremonies that's soon gonna be happening. You can't keep buying new indianwear clothes for every occasion as they don't really come at Zara prices! I have been going through the same dilemma for a while now as many of my friends are getting engaged or getting married. So, I devised this little trick to wear one outfit in a couple of different ways. So, for example I am going to be styling this one saree in 3 different ways and will tell you few more ways how you can wear it and carry it off like a diva without anyone gossiping behind your back that you repeated an outfit! People will actually be asking for tips, trust me!

Look 1

This pre-draped saree is like a boon for me as I am not really accustomed to the intricacy of 5 mtrs of fabric. This look will be perfect for a day occasion. It keeps your hands free of the pallu and looks modern and chic. You can also swap the blouse with a solid color crop top and make the look even more indo-western. I have kept the accessories minimal keeping in mind that the look is more day appropriate. You can however experiment with heavy chandelier earrings if you are big on accessorising.

Look 2

For a more night time event, pile on your favorite kundan set, wrap the pallu around your wrist and swipe on some sexy red on your lips. This style of draping the saree looks very sophisticated and adds elegance to your overall personality. I have accessorised this look somewhat heavily and went with a gold structured bag and kept my hair open for an easy and young look. If you accessorise way to much and also put your hair in a bun, it can look a tad old-school but hey, whatever works for you!

Look 3

For the girls who don't really bother too much about styling and accessorizing, just go the usual way of wearing a saree and add a maangtikka and a cocktail ring, and you are good to go! The easy breezy feel of the whole outfit actually can look very sexy.

And whenever you repeat an outfit, be sure to style it differently. That's where your creativity can play a role. Change up the accessories and bag and have fun mixing and matching different colors, textures and patterns.

A date with Label Ritu Kumar

IMG_0861 copy

Label Ritu Kumar comes under the umbrella of the brand 'Ritu Kumar'. Label focuses more on contemporary and urban dressing for modern-age women and providing them easy solutions for everyday lifestyle. A sea of options are available when you visit the store, all the collection displayed in a beautiful color co-ordinated manner. The color story seamlessly flows from one palette to another through whites and creams, yellows and oranges, blues and green and reminds you of fluid nature of fashion. The one thing that is sure to catch your eye is the print play going on everywhere your eyes turn. They have absolutely stunning floral and abstract prints. The solid color shirts and trousers are no less interesting, with a partial print lining, they have the most interesting details which makes for perfect wardrobe staple pieces. Ofcourse, while we were there we sneaked a peek at the traditional wear they had to offer as well but I definitely had a gaga time trying on clothes from the Label collection!

This beautiful cotton floor length anarkali was the first piece that grabbed my attention the moment I walked into the store. I have an affection with darker colors and my life long affair with black and blues came into play and I knew I had to try this one on! And boy did I have fun trying it on! These are just few snippets of the gala that went on for at least 20 minutes. Judge all you may but a floor length anarkali that can twirl this good.....I am not even gonna explain myself for this one :P

This bright reddish orange jumpsuit paired with a long printed coverup shirt makes for a perfect outfit for relaxed summer afternoon. I can totally imagine myself wearing this outfit for a Sunday brunch or while out shopping.

What did I tell you about prints at Label? These ditsy floral print will give you a mini orgasm if you are a print lover! I decided to embrace the full print on print trend and go all out with the outfit. Loud and clear. This outfit could be just as perfect for office as it could be for a sophisticated evening soiree that does not require dressy outfit but it does require chic to be on the menu. The colors summarises Summer and all things pretty while still not being overwhelmingly girly. I like that a lot about this outfit. The bag is an accessory enough for this outfit. Probably my favorite outfit of the lot. No, wait! I love the anarkali too! Oh! Its so difficult to pick a favorite! You guys tell me, which outfit did you love the most?

Biba Store Visit

IMG_0554 IMG_0569IMG_0593 IMG_0598 IMG_0602 IMG_0606 IMG_0575 IMG_0539 IMG_0534 IMG_0523

Everytime I need to attend an event which requires me to shed my western aesthetics and embrace Indianwear in all it's glory, I always find myself leaning towards Biba for casual or even light evening wear for that matter. The affordability and the wide variety always surprises me pleasantly. Recently, when contacted by Biba to visit the store and play dress up, I willingly surrendered and needless to say, it was a happy visit! The summery colors and prints had me on my toes and I tried a gazzilian outfits to be honest. Sharing all the images would be going overboard so sharing my two favourites (Green Kurta and Yellow kurta) from the lot.

The fit was something that really had me in awe this time. Every garment fit me perfectly as if it was custom made for my body! This is an issue that most women face while buying Indianwear I feel. There is always some fabric that hangs loose at the waist or the bust or sometimes things are way too tight to breathe in! Biba had that problem sorted and how!

The collection has been curated with utmost care of details, fit and the color palette. Bursting with vibrant yellow, limes, blues and what not, the collection has really come alive and you can notice this even if you pass by the store! Do drop in though and try out few pieces to really know that they have the best fits. And prints!

Story of Stones

{All jewellery - C/o IndiaTrend , Dress - Koovs, Shoes - Venus Steps}

When it comes to Indianwear, I always lean towards choosing simpler designs and accessorizing heavily. This ensemble is my current favourite when it comes to Indo-western fusion wear. It's a perfect base to layer on jewellery while not compromising on elegance. In fact, I have never worn this dress on it's own as I feel a little ethnic touch to it does it more justice than a simple pumps and statement necklace ever would. These Kundan pieces elevate the look while still keeping it not too overwhelming.

What Indian women is not a fan of these beautiful stones! I personally love kundan jewellery and when offered a chance by Indiatrend to try their products, there was no reason I would say no. The stunning jewellery selection arrived at my workplace and every girl went gaga over them! Beautifully crafted pieces and stunning designs.

Moreover, they couldn't have arrived at a better time of the year. One of my best friend is getting hitched soon and I am all set with the sparkle. I might order few necklaces too as they have an amazing collection on their website (See HERE). Having their head office located in Gurgaon, they are very quick with their delivery too. Do go through their website if you are looking for affordable Kundan jewellery to be delivered at the comfort of your home. I can personally vouch for the quality having experienced them so upclose.
