I have recently been duelling with the idea of everyone possessing a dual personality. One they wear as a mask in social settings and the other that resides behind that mask. And the sad part is, it is inevitable in the world we live in where buying shoes matter more than donating money for the needy. We look the other way when a beggar knocks on our car windows on a traffic signal. But spend hours in front of the idiot box called a TV staring at the materialistic actors who portray fake emotions for our entertainment. We create a fake social world inside our smartphones when a true friend is sitting right beside you wanting to talk in real time, face to face. Every year, as December begins, I start reflecting on the year that passed by us, slipped through our fingers in a blur. What good did we do in this one year, how closer are we to our goal, and how many true friends were made who do not only talk through texts but spend real quality time with you, beside you.

It's about time I made some real changes in my life for a better tomorrow. Call it new year resolutions or whatever you may like, but these changes are necessary. I want to live life more fully, not worrying about petty things, being happy and satisfied with what I have and being thankful for the amazing people in my life. I would earnestly suggest you all take a minute to think back on how you spent last year, what all you could have done to make it better and what are you gonna do about it now. Live a real life, don't be fake or pretentious, give love and support to your friends and family, say what you feel and do whatever you want to do passionately. No regrets!

Fall Fashion and Hats

Can we just hurray in excitement for a whole minute! My most beloved season is here in full form and I couldn't be more excited. Fall season is my favourite not only because it is the perfect temperature, neither too hot nor too cold, but also because it brings along limitless possibilities of layering, accessorising and styling. Although I am aware that Winter will surpass this temperature in a matter of weeks or probably even days but I am going to be making the most of this time however little of it I am allowed.

This outfit is my first tribute to this season, where I have incorporated the core trends for fall. Plaid is having a moment on the runways and I brought it down to the streets with this light woolen cape jacket. It was a gem found buried deep in the treasure hunt we all go through as we step into Forever 21. The denims and the bag are the results of a little DIY makeover project that we did on a whim while chilling on a lazy Sunday afternoon. We always find ourselves pointing out the little changes that could have made a garment or an accessory much more stylish and one day we had enough of the could haves and should haves and we took the matter in our hands. Or should I say, took the scissors in our hands! We snipped away the arm handles of the bag first which made it more street chic and then moved onto making those slits in the denims. It was hard not to go overboard as I kept insisting for a few more slashes but then felt this was just the right amount of skin peeking through.

With high waist denims, the most obvious choice is a crop top and that's what I went for. Yes, the nip in the air is more prominent but we don't have to let go of our crop tops just yet! With the right amount of layering, crop tops can easily work their way into our Fall wardrobes. Why don't you all show me your way of wearing crop tops in this weather! Share your styled outfits with me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or Snapchat...I would love to see what you guys come up with! There is a stylist hidden in each one of you, dig deep and explore the possibilities!

Welcoming Fall with Layers

Being a fashion blogger has more to it than it seems. I have had many girls ask me in past few months that how I started blogging and how I made a career out of it. While it is good to see bloggers being recognised as influencers and being idolised by so many in the society, what saddens me is that almost every girl who comes forward with a query about blogging wants to know how to contact PRs and how to make money. While I have addressed this issue in the past, it is about time that I answer all those questions once and for all.

Blogging is not a primary means of earning money for me, I am not going to deny that I do earn for all the effort I put into shoots and writing, etc. but I don't necessarily depend on social media as my full time job. I have tried it though for a couple of months and while it worked out great, I do love a stable income and for that I work as a stylist with an ecommerce company. Anyways, the point is, the moment I started working as a full time professional blogger, it started to feel like work. I have always blogged out of passion and my love for fashion. The day it became my full time job, it started to overwhelm me with all the running around, attending events, meetings and what not. I felt that I had to post not because I wanted to at that particular moment, but because I had to...which I did not like one bit. And for those who wants to start a fashion blog, know that it should be your passion to explore fashion world and not your passion for easy money. If money is the reason you start a blog, you will be disappointed because it is not easy money. It would be easier to get a job and have a fixed income than start from scratch, build up your blog and market it, schedule meetings and shoots, edit images, videos, write the content, cross promote on social media, etc etc. I have had days when I finished my work by 3am and woke for an early shoot at 6. I do not mind it coz I love doing it! But if you want to earn money, you will be bitter and despise the time you are spending doing these things and not getting proper rest or sleep. So, be honest to yourself and follow your dreams, not money for only the dreams you can loose sleep over is worth chasing.

Dhoti Pants & Crop Top

IMG_1611 copy IMG_1621 copy copy IMG_1633 copy copy IMG_1645 copy IMG_1637 copy
{Outfit - Mrignain by Mandeep Rekhi, Jewellery - Indiatrend, Belt - Forever New, Sunglasses - Aldo, Shoes - Zara}

And I am back yet again with an Indianwear attire!

With my body type, I feel high-waisted dhoti pants with crop top looks really flattering. I have an hour-glass figure which means I have a somewhat tiny waist(yay) so this outfit flaunts exactly that making me look even more slimmer than I am. The trick to wear crop tops flawlessly is to show just a sliver of skin and not more 1 or at max 2 inches. Unless you have the Shilpa Shetty body, any more than 2 inches and you can easily tip over to the slightly vulgar side. Keep it safe and classy but if you really wanna be a lil risqué, all power to you!

This silhouette can be worn by girls with any body shape, even if you have a pear shaped body, rectangular or an apple shaped body, it kind of neutralises the silhouette by creating an illusion of slimmer waist and fuller bust and hips. This outfit would be perfect for a garden diwali party or an outdoor mehendi and sangeet function. Keeping that in mind, I kept the jewellery minimal for a fresh and young vibe. What are your thoughts about this look, do let me know in the comments section below!

SFE Men: Chasing the monochrome rainbow

{Rollneck Pullover/Scarf - H&M, Denims - Zara, Shoes - Vans}

Meet the newest member of SFE family, ROHMAN SHAWL! An accomplished model and a dear friend, can carry almost anything with panache and happily (and might I add, very sweetly) agreed to be the face for men's fashion on Style Fashion Etc. We plan to do a lot more in men's fashion category so stay tuned (and get the stylish men in your life to also tune in!) for a lot more fun posts!

We are almost on the verge of entering Autumn and there's nothing I love more than Fall Fashion. The light layers, added textures and hot coffees take over and life just becomes better. Along with these cozy comforts comes new trends to embrace and experiment with. We start with basics today and will explore more as we move deeper into the season.

Rollnecks never really left winter wardrobes and as seen at Lanvin, Maison Martin Margiela and J.W.Anderson, they are definitely making a comeback this season. Wear it as it is or layer it under a shirt, this classic piece will hardly ever fail you. With grey being the unmistakably first choice during the colder months and by far the most popular color on the shows, we chose the deepest hue almost bordering on black. Paired with white denims, the dark grey creates a contrast that is subtle and easy on the eyes. Another popular trend that was spotted on the runways this season was squares, used in big, bold blocks of color and patches and we introduced this trend in the form of a scarf. A long scarf is going to your favored companion during the later months of the year. Thrown and looped casually around the neck, this piece of fabric can bring together the most casual of outfits and make you look 10 times better instantly. If you haven't already, stock up on scarves before the Autumn hits and you will be cozy and stylish all season long!

In case you are wondering, where did we bump into the yellow vintage car, let me tell you about this perfect location where we shot this look...Well it's called 'The Perfect Location'! With over 30 backdrops and a makeup and changing room, this place is a dream come true for photographers and shoot managers. Do check it out if you are looking for a location for any fashion shoots or getting your pre-wedding photoshoot done.

Street Style: Maxi Dress

IMG_1501 copy copy IMG_1510 copy IMG_1511 copy IMG_1531 copy copy IMG_1526 copy
{Maxi Dress - Zara, Bag - Michael Kors, Scarf - Love Moschino, Sunglasses - Paperlilie, Earring/Cuff/Ring - H&M, Shoes - Marks & Spencer}

I was just wondering that the colleges are going to be re-opening soon enough and these street style outfits would be perfect for your first day of college, or even second day or hey, rest of the week too! While styling these street style outfits, I always keep in mind that I am choosing these outfits for the streets of India and not New York. They have to be conservative as well as daring enough for the Indian streets coz hey, you can't really wear short shorts paired with crop tops and roam around in the streets without being ogled upon. If you can, all the more power to you, but I prefer to stay stylish AND safe. I mean, wear what you want, but know what to wear where. You can wear a super short dress to your best friend's bash without giving it a second thought but the same outfit out in the streets might just get you in trouble.

Anyways, the street rules somewhat applies in college too. You can't wear shorts in college but a crop top baring just a sliver of skin is a-okay! So basically, these street style outfits can double up as inspirations for your college outfits too. The mantra is easy chic.

This maxi is my personal favourite, black and white you see. You can add as much color you want to style this outfit. I styled it in a very easy and understated way by adding a hit of peach lipshade, some colourful earrings from H&M and a colourful scarf tied on my sling bag. That's all the color this outfit needs. I kept my cuff and ring in the same tone and also I kept my shoes white and in block heels so that it's easier to walk around while still looking chic.

Street style: Ripped leggings and oversized shirt

I decided to start this look series called Street Style as many of you suggested in the recent 5th Blogiversary giveaway I hosted that you all would like to see more of wearable outfits that one can wear to college or going out with friends. So, this series will focus on exactly that.

A red pout and a hat is the secret to make any simple outfit look perfectly street style chic. If you have plans to step out for a stylish evening stroll in the streets with your friends or pay a visit to the mall to check out the sales, just swipe some red color and add a bold accessory like a hat or a brooch or a necklace and you are good to go. I, for instance, always always carry a red lipstick in my bag. Who knows when you might need it and trust me, a red pout can really change your whole look. It has the power to make a drabby outfit also look pulled together and chic. Don't believe me? Go wear your old blue jeans and a regular t-shirt and then put on some red lipstick, I promise you, you wouldn't even feel the need to do your hair. A low messy bun would also do!

Fitted leggings and loose oversized shirt has been my go-to outfit since like forever. It flatters all body types except if you have very thin legs and heavy torso. You can experiment so much with this basic look. Change up color of the leggings, play with texture and silhouettes of the shirt. Roll up the sleeves or leave it down, button up till neck or leave few buttons open, do whatever you want and it will give you a different vibe every single time. Try it, and I am sure this could very well become your go-to outfit too!

Srish

Blue Jeans

{Denims - Lee Jeans, Denim Shirt/Necklaces - Forever 21, Bag - Accessorize, Watch - Michael Kors, Shoes - Zara}

It is said a flattering pair of denims is a must have in every girl's wardrobe along with the LBD. There is a flattering pair of denims for every girl out there and I think I have finally found mine. If you have noticed, I don't wear denims a lot as I never thought denims could look good on me or I will be comfortable in them, but this pair from Lee Jeans is a boon in disguise and now I finally understand why I needed a pair like this in my wardrobe. It is so easy to pull on denims and a t-shirt on the days when I don't want to put too much thought into my outfit or I am on a time crunch. And as they say, guys always prefer a girl in a pair of denims and a simple t-shirt (Although, that guy wouldn't really be my type!).

My favourite way of wearing denims is without a doubt the denim on denim way. Add a pair of sky-high heels and you have got yourself a chic outfit in practically no time. And of course, if you really wanna pull it up a notch, can never go wrong with red lips!

If you are looking for the perfect Summer denims, check out Lee Exclusive stores and do try on this pair. It has a little bit of stretch too which pulls in all unflattering its and bits and makes your legs look slim and toned.

Stay fab!

Road Tripping

{Dress/ Shoes - New Look, Bag - Gian Marco Venturi, Tights/Hat - Zara, Watch - Michael Kors}

A long road trip on a long weekend is the perfect solution to a mundane everyday life. Fortunately, our capital city has many destinations which are just few hours drive away. On the top of my list are Valley of Flowers, Neemrana forts and Rishikesh, which if I don't manage to chicken out, might be covered by the end of this year, at least two of them if not all!

During a road trip, you need to keep your style as well as comfort in check and this outfit offers it all. The roomy shift dress allows me to fill up my belly with all the dhaba food and not worry about a thing! The print is perfect for Spring season as well. The shoes are also super comfortable while offering some height and not to mention, cute! And I am sure when I say that I love to carry a huge bag for a road trip, I am speaking for almost every girl here! I love this Gian Marco Venturi bag for travelling purposes as it is very big and comfortable to carry on my shoulders. I can literally carry my world in it, and if not, definitely my wallet, sunglasses, phone, makeup bag, pair of flats, change of clothes and a small blanket! Not even kidding, guys!

#Spexappeal with Enigma

{Spectacles - Enigma by Titan Eye Plus, T-Shirt/Necklace/Rings - Forever 21, Leggings - Koovs, Long cardigan - Zara, Bag/Watch - Michael Kors, Shoes - Asos}

I have always been in favor of wearing glasses and not lenses. I feel more at ease with my glasses and never felt that it gave me a nerdy look which is a very common misconception. So, when approached by Titan Eye Plus about their new Enigma collection which encourages women to wear glasses and feel confident in them, the offer was kinda match made in heaven. I have always promoted the idea of wearing spectacles and I own numerous styles for different moods and occasions. The idea is to use your glasses as an accessory and flaunt them and not hide behind them.

Enigma has a wide variety of glasses to choose from and there's something for everybody, the girly girl, the funky girl, the corporate girl or an eclectic girl. The minute I saw the collection, these frames were the first one I picked and no matter what else I tried, these just felt like the perfect shape for my face cut. I like black and bold frames, there's no argue about that so these rectangular frames were my final choice and I absolutely love them!

No matter what you are wearing or where you are going, you can always rock glasses and I am not just saying for the sake of it. I speak from experience as I have been wearing glasses almost every single day for over ten years now! And I absolutely love wearing them!!

#ArtOfDressing with Van Heusen [PopXo Blog Network]

{Dress/ Belt/ Jacket - Van Heusen, Tights - Zara, Shoes - Asos.com, Bag - Moschino, Watch - Michael Kors, Sunglasses - Prada}

During the colder months, while my sartorial choices are limited to experimenting with jeggings, jackets and pullovers, from time to time I do like to dress up the mundane life and opt for something classier, chic and sharp. My love for tailored bodycon dresses hugging the curves at the right places has only grown and the versatility of these timeless pieces makes me come back to them time and again.

The classic shift dresses in the new Van Heusen for Deepika Padukone collection defines minimalism and class all the way. The cuts and the silhouettes takes unique shape and concorde to the shape of the wearer in the utmost flattering manner and that's the unique selling point of the whole collection. The experimental elements like a cascade running through the length of the dress or the texture taking the dress to a different level of elegance is just a cherry on the cake! I picked out my favorites from the whole collection and they turned out to be this stunning emerald dress and cream leather jacket which makes for a bomb combination when worn together.

Being a fan of Miss Padukone's work and style, when contacted by PopXo Blog Network for this collaboration, we were more than excited to go ahead and shoot something from this collection. And trust us, these were not our only favorites! Impeccable shirts and tailored blazers also adorns this collection and are perfect finds for the upcoming holiday season! Do check them out if you are out and about and you spot a Van Heusen store, they are definitely worth your time!

Florals and Plaid for Fall

{Skirt/Shirt/Necklaces/Rings/Shoes - Forever 21, Crop Top - Stalk Buy Love, Bag - Zara}

As soon as the Fall season kicks in, spotting plaid shirt becomes a common occurring. While it is a really versatile piece to have in your closet, wearing it with regular denims, hoodie and sneakers doesn't always looks as cute as Bella Swan casuals. I like to layer my plaid shirts depending on the weather.

For an easy look, you could just layer it over a cropped top and skirt like I have done here during the beginning months of Fall. Light layering is the key when it comes to jewellery as well. Layer a couple of long pieces with short ones to keep the neck area from looking too stuffy.

 I have been wearing this shirt almost every week since I bought it because it is so easy to wear! Whenever I have one of those days when I wake up late and have little or no time to get ready and leave, I reach out for this classic piece. You can wear it with denims, jeggings, skirt, layered over a t-shirt or under a jacket, just so many ways to style it! And it looks perfect during the Fall season! Hands down one of my favorite pieces during the colder months. Photography credits: www.aanchalkalra.com

Bidding goodbye to my long tresses

{Crop Top/Necklace/Shoes/Hand Harness/Rings - Forever 21, Pants - Monsoon, Wrap Bracelet - Zara}

When I did this photoshoot, I never imagined that this might just be one of my last outfits with long hair! Even though I wanted to cut my hair short for a long time, I never had the courage to chop off my long tresses that took so much effort to become what they were. But I guess, I needed the push which I got this Diwali. Everybody has been asking me why I chopped off my hair, why did I get rid of my long tresses and here's the answer:
Because it caught fire.

Yes, that's the story. On Diwali night, after the customary prayers and all, we were clicking family pictures. I had my camera on the tripod and was setting timer so that I could also be in the picture and since not everyone were fitting in the frame, I kept moving back without realizing that there was a diya (Indian candle, sort of) right behind me. After a few seconds, I felt something hot on my back and at the same moment my brother who was standing near me noticed the fire. Thankfully, the damage was contained on time and it was limited to my hair. I went to the salon and got a good 10 inches chopped off even though the damage was up till 6-7 inches. I felt it was a perfect opportunity to try out the long bob that I wanted for last 5-6 months but just couldn't. So yeah, now I have like super short hair and sometimes I miss my long hair so much, I could cry but I do love the short look too. It's lighter and easier to style and looks cute. Here's how it looks now:

I am kinda happy that I finally got the haircut I had been craving for. And the timing couldn't be better with the Fall season approaching. I am super excited to style my hair this season! I have had my fair share of hair updos for now and now I am ready to experiment with short hair :D

What I wore to WIFW SS15

{Skirt- StalkBuyLove, Top/Shoes - Zara, Necklace/Rings - Forever21, Bag - Love Moschino}

Fashion week is in full swing and so is the street style at the show venue. In my last post, I showed you guys some very stylish outfits worn by some very stylish ladies so now, it's time to show you guys what I wore to WIFW. I am attending the Wills Fashion Week as a PopXo blogger and if you guys don't know about it already, I have collaborated with PopXo and will be guest blogging for them so do check out their website if you want to see more of my articles :)

I wanted to keep my outfit minimalistic and non-fussy this time as I was attending sans the partner in crime, Aman so I had to handle the camera, etc. I already showed you all which bag I was going to carry to WIFW in my previous post What's in my Bag (Fashion Week Edition) and it went perfectly with my outfit. I chose to wear a printed pencil skirt paired with a plain white sleeveless top for a clean look. I have always been afraid of wearing white as it is too high-maintenance but I guess, with age comes maturity(not that I am too old :P) because I seem to be gravitating a lot towards whites and nudes these days. These colours give a clean and crisp look to the whole ensemble which is what I was going for with this outfit.

And by the way, has anybody noticed my new damn cool shades yet? No? Nobody? Well, I will either ways shamelessly shout it out loud: Check out my new super cool shades!!! It was a gift from Aman and I am absolutely obsessed with it. I may just be able to wear it for next couple of weeks before Winter hits but I don't care! I loveeee them!! :D

xoxo,
Stay fabulous!

Blush Blazer

{Blazer/Shorts/Shoes/Earring/Rings - Forever 21, Top - Zara, Cuff/Sunglasses - H&M, Bag - c/o Etre}

This blazer had been hanging in my closet brand-spanking-new for more than 4 months. One day while arranging my closet, I realized it still had the price tag on it and then and there I decided, my next outfit was going to be styled around this beautiful blush blazer.

Blazers are staple pieces in a girl's wardrobe. You can never have enough. I own nine of them and I am still always on the lookout for more. You need to start building your collection from the basics. Once you have the perfect tailored fit black blazer, the next one you should get is a nude or blush color which is very versatile and goes with many outfits. Once you have these two, you can venture out for more variety like patterned ones, a bold bright blue blazer, or a fuschia georgette blazer, etc. But then again, who am I to tell you where to begin, if you feel like you can pull off a fuschia blazer on the first go, by all means, go ahead and let the bright hued blazer be your first ever. The idea is to own the final look and let your personality reflect through your outfit.

For me, I like to begin with basics. My first blazer was a tailored fit black Zara blazer(Click HERE) which still fits perfectly and to be honest, it was the most expensive one too. I knew it was an investment as a black blazer is a wardrobe staple. I have worn it countless number of times now, and it is still in prime condition. Money well spent.

You can style your blazers with practically anything! No, really! You can wear them with maxi dresses, maxi skirts, trousers, denims, shorts, skirts, heck, just throw it over any outfit and they can instantly make your outfit look so much better! I styled this blazer keeping the warm weather in mind. I kept it very simple with a white top and high waist shorts and kept the accessories to the minimum too. I felt a necklace would totally distract the attention from the outfit as a whole. I wanted it to be a clean and chic look. The white earring doesn't disturb the tone of the outfit and the clutch adds an interesting element. All in all, I like how it came out. What do you guys think?

xoxo,
Stay Chic!

Travel in Style | Fashionably Comfortable Look

Yes, you can wear sweatpants to the airport if you wish, I am not judging! But who knows whom you might run into while you are struggling to lift your heavy suitcase filled with sexy dresses, shoes and tons of makeup and you end up at an angle very unflattering to the hot guy behind you. What use of those nice clothes and makeup when the beginning of your holiday is so dull!

 {Top - Forever 21, Trousers - c/o The Closet Label, Scarf - Zara, Handbag - Love Moschino, Shoes - Mango}

 While traveling, I like to keep my accessories minimal so that they don't poke me during the flight and I can relax or sleep comfortably. My outfit consists of just garments and I throw on a scarf to keep myself warm yet stylish. This Zara scarf is one of my favorites whenever I need to hike up my style quotient without too much hassle. The slouchy high-waist pants and even more slouchier top allows me room to move around and be comfortable. I kept the whole look very muted along with the footwear but added some texture and print through the scarf and some color through the bag. This is my ideal airport look, fashionably comfortable!

{T-Shirt - Zara, Denims - Levi's, Shoes - Geox}

Aman chose to wear a simple denim and t-shirt combo but the combat shoes took the look a notch up. The outfit is easy breezy and very comfortable while there is something about it which makes it look very smart and upbeat. I would give the shoes all the credits!

In case you are wondering where we are off to, we are working on a very exciting new project which demanded our presence in Mumbai this weekend. Yes, twice in the same month! We reached here today and we are here till Monday evening, we are looking out for every window of opportunity where we can sneak away from work and hit the famous streets of the city and check out some nice eateries as well. If you hail from the city of lights, do suggest us places which are a must visit for shopping and good food!

Ciao!

Playing it up with the basics!

{Shirt - Ann Taylor, Jeggings - Local Boutique, Necklace - Forever 21, Bag - Java Plum, Shoes - Zara}

Even a simple shirt and trousers could be just as chic and sexy as a maxi dress would be. In my earlier post featuring the silk shorts I talked about how I wore that outfit for a meeting and a reader left a comment asking for something more office appropriate. Well, since I was going in for a casual meeting regarding blog purposes and the day being super hot, the outfit was appropriate in my opinion. But, I understand that would not be the situation for the most of you! So, I took upon this challenge and styled a simple office appropriate outfit(kinda semi-formal) and I do plan to style one more outfit for the offices with strict formals dress code.

This look features an abstract print shirt paired with jeggings. Now, since the jegging fabric is not denims, it could pass for semi-formals. I have always worked in places which require no formals at all and jeggings have always been my go to option. They are more comfortable than denims for long hours and they fit great! People working in Fashion magazines, export houses, fashion houses, or at their own boutiques or enterprise can easily carry this look in multiple ways! It is that simple. It amazes me how we always keep going back to basics and they never ever fail us. You just need to add your personality to the basics and you would shine through the crowd. In my case, I added heels, threw my hair up in simple casual updo and added a bright lipstick that would make it up for the dark palette of my outfit. I like how the lips brighten up the whole look and make it Summer appropriate. You all can also restyle this simple shirt and pants/jeggings combo and add your personal touch to the look! And if you do, I would love to see! Share the pictures with me on Instagram, tag me by the username @StyleFashionEtc and I will check out the pictures :)

Stay chic!

Hits and Misses: Bags and Shoes

{Top - Zara, Pants - Monsoon, Shoes/Necklace/Ring - Forever 21, Bag - Java Plum}

My love for shopping online keeps me bumping into interesting new brands and one of my recent finds is a brand called Java Plum. I have been wanting to invest in a pure leather bag for a while now, I was actually bored of my everyday bags which are usually black or tan in color. I also tend to gravitate more towards structured bags but I needed something in a softer hue and slouchy silhouette for the summers. They are easier to carry on the shoulders and you do not always have to carry them on your arms which is a pain while shopping. I came across this website which is apparently a new and upcoming Leather Studio. The thing that I was most excited about was their free return policy. If I didn't liked my purchase, I could send back the bag immediately. I needed to feel the leather and see the quality of the bag and I was really impressed with not only their quality and finish but with their quick service as well. I felt like I needed to share this with all of you as there are very few brands out there who provide excellent service.

The leather is Italian and great attention has been paid to the design and quality of materials and craftsmanship. The leather has a gorgeous texture, look and feel. And the design is chic, stylish yet functional. It fits upto 12 or 13 inch laptop which is perfect for me and the bag that I have chosen has a bright fuschia lining! It looks pretty inside out! And that's not even the best part, it has a key hook so that I do not have to go through the frustration of rummaging for my keys! That is honestly my favorite part. This is a feature I use all the time. I have not taken out my keys from the hook since I started using the bag, and every time I am about to leave my home, I just take out the keys, while it is still attached to the hook, lock the doors and flip it back in. So convenient! The leather has an oil-tanned finish that allows the natural character of the leather to show through and has a soft silken feel. It is also water-resistant which came in handy last night when I had to make a run for it in a sudden outburst of nature [That being said, leather should anyway not be drenched in water]. It also comes with a pink, black and red canvas strap which would be perfect to liven up any dull outfit. I will whip out those babies the next time I am wearing a monochrome outfit! I can just go on and on about this bag, I am so in love with it. I am rarely this impressed by the quality of a product and have been carrying it everywhere! It's funny how it complements every single of my everyday outfits. Guys, do check out this brand if you are looking to buy a new bag, here is the link to the website - Java Plum, and the bag I bought - Canvas Strap Bag.

I wore this outfit for a movie and lunch. I would admit though, I wore the heels just for the shoot this time. I just could not wait to wear these beauties and I am SO glad I did because I got to know during the shoot that these are not as sturdy as they look. The ankle strap did not hold at all. They came off more than seven times on plain ground during the shoot only and let's not even talk about stairs! I am really disappointed in these and especially because I got them in two colors. I guess I will be taking them back to the store to return, such a shame for such gorgeous shoes! Letting you guys know so that you also don't get tricked by the their beauty. Damn! I should have listened to Aman when he told me to get just one pair first. Anyhow...

Summertime Madness

{Silk Shorts - Zara, Shirt - Local Boutique, Bag/Shoes - Aldo, Necklace - Splash, Ring/Earcuffs - Forever 21}

The heat has taken over almost all the aspects of life. It's what we talk about, shop about and care about. The weekend was spent hunting for the perfect sunscreen for face and a lip balm with highest spf available. Light airy clothes are flying off the racks in stores. The AC is almost never off and when it is off, we are frantically calling electricians to come see what's wrong! I think you get the point, right? It's madness!

In such times, I switch to lightweight fabrics that allows my skin to breathe. The silk shorts have replaced the denim shorts and how! Cute prints and airy fabric makes for a perfect bottomwear in Summers. They can be paired with a simple block color t-shirt or a shirt and makes for a perfect outfit for going out to movies, lunch date with friends or just some casual shopping. But if you want to turn up the style-o-meter, pair these with a complementing print shirt, sky-high heels and add a statement necklace. Some clever detailings here and there and you are ready to rock the party.

I kept the look classy and simple as I was going for a meeting. You can hardly ever go wrong with a classic white shirt and they are always business appropriate. Kept the rest of the look simple with pulled back hair, a simple long necklace, bag and shoes in subtle hues and fuschia lipstick to add a punch of color. The structured bag adds sharpness to the whole attire. I am mostly impressed by the multiple wearability of this outfit, I can wear this to a brunch, a meeting, shopping or any other daytime event. And be comfortable while doing it all!

Stay Chic!
