As a kid, I remember my mom dressing me up in matching co-ordinates and looking back at those pictures in my teenage years, I swore I would never dress up in such dorky outfits ever. But the fate had something else in mind and co-ordinates are back and how! Every store, be it physical or online, is stacking them in solid colors, prints, various silhouettes and what not. And I am myself now smitten with this trend and now own a whole range of matching co-ordinates of crop tops, pants, skirts, jackets and I still want more!

Matching separates is one of the hottest trends of the season. Co-ordinating your whole outfit in tailored separates or casual cropped outfits is the easiest way to sharpen your work attire or liven up your street styling. You can mould the trend to suit your taste and comfort level by either restricting yourself to solid colors or going all out with matching prints like stripes, floral and in my case here, nautical print. You can play with proportions by choosing a crop top with high-waisted bottoms or boxy jackets with pants. I like this trend mostly in crop tops and high waist skirts. It tends to create an illusion of slimmer waist by flaunting the slimmest part of your torso and by showing just a sliver of skin, it keeps the look classy too. Without flashing too much flesh, you can be on-trend and sexy!

It is also the most viable option for holidays! You can wear it as a whole outfit or mix and match the separates to create a whole new range of looks! Having 2-3 such coordinates will let you experiment with your outfits and by just swapping between your coordinates also you can get numerous options! So, go on and try this trend and do share the looks with me on my Facebook, Instagram or Twitter!

A Black and White world

{Jumpsuit - Koovs, Blazer - Forever21, Shoes - Asos, Handbag - Accessorize, Watch - Michael Kors}

It's no secret that I am an ardent lover of the monochrome palette, particularly black and white. This fascination is not limited to clothes only, though these two colors are universally flattering on any skin tone and body type, these colorless colors are representatives of the opposites. Black and White. Truth and Lie. Real and Fake. I don't like grey areas as much which lies in between, not talking about the color here.

Last week, I celebrated my 25th Birthday with few of my closest and dearest friends and theme of the party was Black and White with a hint of Gold. It was a fun night and I will soon share few pictures on the blog. A lot has been happening since then and I have been keeping busy but I will publish the post before the end of the week.

I wore this outfit for my pre-birthday shopping, seemed like a good idea to get in the mood of the theme. This lace printed jumpsuit is a perfect blend of comfy and vintage style. To make the look more contemporary, I paired it with an oversized jacket with a leather panel and chunky black wedges. And I am absolutely in love with red lips and how it brings out the glam in the simplest of looks. Red lips worn casually with messy hair, a simple t-shirt and denims is my favorite. A neat red pout has the power to make the most comfiest of clothes look chic and I have been wearing it quite too often these days. What are your thoughts of red lips and which is your favorite shade of red, let me know as I would love to experiment more with different shades of red.

And if you have not already taken part in the currently ongoing contest on my Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, what are you waiting for? All you have to do is share you Spexy (wearing spectacles) selfies and tag @stylefashionetc and @titaneyeplus along with the hashtag #SpexAppeal and you can win lots of goodies and vouchers from Titan!

#Spexappeal with Enigma

{Spectacles - Enigma by Titan Eye Plus, T-Shirt/Necklace/Rings - Forever 21, Leggings - Koovs, Long cardigan - Zara, Bag/Watch - Michael Kors, Shoes - Asos}

I have always been in favor of wearing glasses and not lenses. I feel more at ease with my glasses and never felt that it gave me a nerdy look which is a very common misconception. So, when approached by Titan Eye Plus about their new Enigma collection which encourages women to wear glasses and feel confident in them, the offer was kinda match made in heaven. I have always promoted the idea of wearing spectacles and I own numerous styles for different moods and occasions. The idea is to use your glasses as an accessory and flaunt them and not hide behind them.

Enigma has a wide variety of glasses to choose from and there's something for everybody, the girly girl, the funky girl, the corporate girl or an eclectic girl. The minute I saw the collection, these frames were the first one I picked and no matter what else I tried, these just felt like the perfect shape for my face cut. I like black and bold frames, there's no argue about that so these rectangular frames were my final choice and I absolutely love them!

No matter what you are wearing or where you are going, you can always rock glasses and I am not just saying for the sake of it. I speak from experience as I have been wearing glasses almost every single day for over ten years now! And I absolutely love wearing them!!

How to do Indo-western flawlessly!

When you are running short of time during festive or wedding season, you don't necessarily need to pick up any outfit just for the sake of it. You can create an indo-western outfit which would look just as chic as any of those designer humdrums your cousins would be wearing. When all of a sudden, it was decided that we need to wear traditional outfits for our last day of the office before Diwali and I had all heavy anarkalis and sarees which I could not carry off during a hectic bridal shoot which was scheduled for the last day, this happened:

{Dress - Koovs, Leggings - Sakshi Grover, Necklace - Jewellery shop from my hometown, Shoes - Christian Louboutin}

I paired a midi length black dress with a peach colored leggings from an anarkali and topped it off with a heavy kundan necklace. The dress had a beautiful silhouette with high neck and quarter sleeves on the bodice and a draped skirt both attached on the waist leaving a tasteful gap which showed some skin and saved the look from being too stuffy. I maintained the chic look of the whole ensemble by going with straight hair and I think it all turned out quite nice, what do you think?

If you decide to try this out, keep a few pointers in mind:
- Choose a dress with an appropriate length which can pass for a kurta
- No prints unless it's paisley or some other Indian motif
- Choose subtle colors like nudes, peaches, black, creams, etc which are mostly used in Indianwear
- If you want to go for colors, go for jewel tones like emerald, rich purple, etc.
- Accessorize with Indian jewellery and don't be afraid to pile them on, just don't go too much overboard.

If you try this technique, do share a picture on Twitter or Instagram tagging me!

#FashionWeekDiary

So, as I have been attending the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week this season in collaboration with PopXo, I thought it would be great to bring you guys along with me for one day through pictures.

Day 4 was filled with exciting shows like Dev R nil, Urvashi Kaur, Wendell Rodricks, etc. with the highlight being the last show of Wendell in collaboration with Ministry of Textiles. More on that later. But in between attending back to back fashion shows, we usually have an hour gap and that is the time to catch up with fellow blogger friends, fill up your tummy and go through the stalls in the exhibition area. I managed to squeeze in time for all three and I actually ran into an old college friend of mine and we ended up chatting for hours before Wendell's show. Surprise run-ins are always fun :)

Raakesh Agarwal's show was definitely not his best. He has done a lot better in past and the overuse of denim was even though done efficiently, it failed to leave an impact on the audience.

Vineet Bahl's collection was nice and likeable but nothing mind blowing here. The palette was neutral mostly with splashes of color here and there. The embroidery was beautiful though and the use of gathers were done very nicely.

Wendell Rodricks did something quite different this time and I personally loved it. His collection usually consists of all shades in the rainbow but this time around, he sticked to just one color, white. The collection had a very zen feel to it and the music added to the ambience. The cuts and drapes were stunning and it was the best collection of the day without a doubt.
The choice of dusky models was a brilliant move as whites stands out the best on such skin tones.

I also crossed by Malini Ramani's stall while sifting through the exhibition, isn't the display super cute!

Along with many fashion whos who, Bollywood was not left far behind. Neha Dhupia attended dressed in all white and how! Loved the chic red lips with the outfit.

{Skirt/Necklace - Koovs, Crop Top/Shoes - Forever 21, Clutch - Bangkok}

I also got a quick outfit picture taken, the lighting was not the best so excuse the use of flash. I chose to wear an all black outfit to compliment the fuschia studded clutch I was carrying. And I kept the accessories minimal by just going with a statement necklace because the look was effortless. Like literally. I got ready in 15 mins in the morning as I had to go to office first and finish off my work and then head to the fashion week. I just swapped my bag and heels for a smaller and higher version respectively. Hope you enjoyed this post, stay tuned for more exciting updates of WIFW and follow me on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for live updates!

Striped Maxi Skirt

{Maxi/T-shirt/Midi Rings - Forever 21, Waistcoat - Zara, Necklace - Koovs, Bracelet - Aldo, Clutch/Knuckle Ring - H&M, Shoes - Steve Madden}

You might notice in this and the previous post that my hair color is gone. Well, it's not. These are just few photoshoots we did long before I got my hair colored but didn't find time to post them. This was actually one of the looks featured in Cosmopolitan's March Issue. My obsession with maxi was at it's peak then and I was busy collecting all colors, prints and fabric I could. And I am glad that I did so because now that the temperature is hitting 44 degrees, I can be all comfortable in my flowy georgette maxis. Just need to tone the tummy a bit more so the crop tops can find a way into my wardrobe!

The days are hectic than ever and while I try to jam writing blog during office's coffee break, I wonder how these changes are going to affect this space. I have got questions from PRs and a couple of readers that will I still blog? The answer is yes! Of course! Since, I was in the middle of moving, I had to skip Talking Tuesdays last couple of weeks but this blog and you readers have given me an identity that I am always grateful for... so rest assured, the blog will go on.

I have moved to my new place, big thanks to mom for handling everything with such finesse and not letting me worry for a single thing. I am still unpacking and settling down. The furniture has been bought, the AC has been ordered, the bed is arriving in a few hours and the fridge and drapes are due tomorrow. I guess I have everything covered and if all goes according to plan, you will soon be watching me talk on YouTube again!

This was all the recent update and now I gotta go. See you all very soon!

This maxi dress fits me like a dream! The moment I tried it on, it was love at first sight. It hugs the body at all the right places and falls beautifully from the hips. Since, it's been raining continuously here, I paired the dress with a denim shirt using the tie-and-roll technique to make it more day appropriate but this dress got sexy on it's back! [Check out the back HERE!] The sheer fabric with long slits till the hem looks so much more chic and beautiful in person, I tell you! I am literally head over heels in love with this dress.

The clutch is a pleasure to the sore eyes. Perfect to brighten up a rainy/gloomy day which is all I want in this weather. The gold leather peeking from the artistic hollows of the neon yellow leather makes for a show-stopper piece. I know I am going to be carrying this a lot. I just know it!

Both these pieces when styled and accessorized the right way, can be very versatile. Giving a modern twist to the classic LBD, this dress has the perfect punch of sexy-ness oozing out of it with the high slits on both sides and the large keyhole back. A big hug to the lovely people at FashionAtClick.com for these masterpieces!
